SUMMIT TIP - Formal Nights

by garridogal

There were two formal nights on our cruise. The first one was the night of our friends' wedding so hey, we were already dressed up! During the second one, on the second to last night, the restaurant staff was saluted for their awesome service. Also a big production of their Baked Alaska desserts was made. It looked way better than it tasted...

Martini Bar: Watch Boom Boom in Action

by garridogal

Boom Boom, the bartender put on nightly shows at the Martini Bar. Aside, from making many tasty concoctions, he also entertains the crowds by stacking glasses and pouring multiple martinis via connected shakers. See my video to watch him in action! (To come.)

A Night on the Promenade: High Energy Entertainment

by VeronicaG

The Promenade was the ship's shopping district, lined with shops, kiosks selling jewelry, watches and accessories, cafe and lounges, but it was also the site of many evening events. Our favorite event was DANCING IN THE STREETS (pictures 1 &2) and the Captain's Cocktail Party. Our grandson and I, boogied in the streets with one of the performers and hundreds of other high spirited travelers while my husband snapped a photo of us.Champagne was served at the Captain's Cocktail Party and photos were taken with the ship's MAIN MAN (picture 3)! Unfortunately, we didn't make it to the party in time to take advantage of this photo op, but we did arrive in time to hear him say a few words from the skybridge and to enjoy a glass of bubbly. (picture 3).

The Platinum Theatre: A Nightly Extravaganza

by VeronicaG

Our week on Royal Caribbean's LIBERTY OF THE SEAS was filled with top notch entertainment. Following dinner each evening, hundreds of people gathered at the Platinum Theatre to see comedy acts, musicals and even an arial act. Sets were changed accordingly and we were delightfully amused! There were two levels (Decks 3 & 4) on which the theatre was situated, making it very easy to enter and exit(picture 2). Beverages could be ordered before the show began and enjoyed during the events. This theatre was also used for special events: informational talks regarding shopping for each port of call, game shows and Bingo. Each front row section had a small counter which was perfect for placing a Bingo card or your drink during an event. Someone won a trip for two at one of the Bingo games! I particularly found the 'shopping talks' helpful because discount cards were given for certain shops at...

Rendezvous Lounge: The Place for an Exotic Drink or a Romantic Dance

by deecat

When the sun goes down, the night comes alive in specialty bars, lounges, and clubs. The ship's most popular area is the Rendezvous Lounge, newly enlarged with an inlaid wood dance floor. This spot has casual seating, a small bar and a combo, with passengers swinging to tunes of many eras. It's a great place before dinner (especially since we ate the late dinner at 8:00 pm) or after dinner if you are not attending the show that night. But, if you are in the mood for a fine champagne, you can go to the Champagne and Caviar Bar.The Martini Bar provides a lovely setting that lives up to the name of its signature cocktai. You may choose from a selection of favorites on the extensive menu ranging from traditional to the "Chocolate Kiss!"Or if you smoke cigars, you may prefer the ambience of a private sitting room to smoke a hand-rolled ciagar and drink a warm cognac in Michael's Club. It boasts...

piano bars: evening extravaganzas

by stopatnothin

Again, depending on the type of ship you choose for your vacation, your entertainment options will vary. - piano bars- lounges with live music- disco with dj- broadway style shows most evening entertainment has no dress code but again the more luxury the ship, the dressier the crowd.

Sunsets in the Caribbean: Sunset in Paradise

by tpangelinan

Some of the most beautiful sunsets we have seen are in the caribbean. I am a sunset freak, so some times terry suffers from being a camera widow because I'm out trying to get the perfect shot no matter what! So ladies please forgive us photo nuts at sunset, besides we will run out of batteries sooner or later!

Several on board: Bars, Bars, Bars!

by garridogal

Let's see, there's the Piano Bar, the Polo Lounge, there's a bar in the Seafood Grill, one on Sensation Boulevard, one in the Grand Spectrum, Michealangelos, several on the Lido Deck and um.... probably more that I've forgotten. I don't think there's really any kind of dress code anywhere on one of these ships. Saw several mullets.....

LE SELECT

by steph4867

LE SELECT is St. Barths' original hangout, commemorated by Jimmy Buffet's 'Cheeseburger in Paradise.' The boisterous garden is where the barefoot boating set gathers for a brew. In clubs change from season to season, so you might ask around for the hot spot of the moment. A daily news sheet called NEWS that lists local happenings like special dinners or music is available at markets and newsstands. You will also find the free, weekly Journal de Saint-Barth - although mostly in French - is useful for current events.

The disco at Hedonism 2.: The disco at Hedonism 2.

by Basmom

It was right in the middle of the resort so you got a good look at everything around you, plus the music that the DJ played was great! We had a terrific time! Normally it would be 'dress to impress' but that night there was a Pajama Party going on and it was great fun!!
