Cerro Azul Off The Beaten Path

We read about an old radar tower that a local business man an avid birder was turning into a lodge.
I corresponded with Raul before we arrived in Panama. We made arrangements to meet so he could show us around.
It was about an hours drive during the early morning hours from Casa de Campo Inn to the Soberania National Park. Our taxi arrived at the inn at 4:30, we wanted to be at the park by 6:00.
When we arrived it was still dark and a bit eerie with the Howler Monkeys howling all around us.
Daylight soon came and so did Raul in his Rainfomobile. He took us to the tower and we had a great couple of hours of bird watching.

The lodge has been completed now and I hope to stay there some time.
