The boat ride is scenic and about 45 minutes to the island. It is $10 per person and departs from Panama City at:
8:30 and 3:00 pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday
8:30 on Tuesday and Thursday
8:30, 10:30 and 4:00 on Saturday and Sunday
Ferries depart Isla Taboga:
9:30 and 4:00 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday
4:30 on Tuesday and Thursday
9:00, 3:00 and 5:00 on Saturday and Sunday
Went on a Saturday and even though people were lining up, thinking they might not catch a ferry, they two other's as back up.
Ferries depart from La Playita de Amador which is located behind the Centro de Exhibiciones Marinas on the Causeway. Any cab driver will know.
Going to Taboga is easy, the Charter company has several boats going round-trip to Taboga every day. It costs $11, return, round trip, if you please. Seniors pay only $7. It may be a good idea to get tickets in advance, they sell them at several locations in Panama City.
The dock is on Amador you turn right at Mi Ranchito restaurant and park somewhere along there and the dock and ticket office are down the lane from the entrance to Mi Ranchito. Which is a great restaurant, BTW, it may be a good idea to eat there before you go to Taboga as there are not many places to eat on the island and they variety and quality of food there is not the best, no bad, but not the best, either.
