Restaurant at Parque Internacional La Amistad :>)Native Indians cook for you in their native stove along the Rio Teribe. Owls hanging out in the trees watching you. Bats flying through the kitchen. Rooster laying on the floor. Chicken and Rice, what else is there in Panama?

tiirrep's Restaurant Tip

by tiirrep

The only to place to eat on the island was in a hut that was used as the dinning room for the guests. The room was probably the largest on the island, enough to accomodate around 15 people. Every morning the old man would give us a breakfast of fruit, bread and eggs. Then around 9 he took whoever was there on the island living in the huts, to a nearby island to swim, snorkle, or just lay out and get a tan. Around noon the guy would come back with his canoe and take us back to his island for lunch. Lunch and dinner always consisted of fresh boiled lobster as a side item!! When you consider that I paid $15 a night to stay on the island, meals included, the lobster made up for that cost by themselves.

by edtash

In Panama City, La Galaxia (inexpensive & excellent seafood) and El Trapiche. In el Valle, don't miss El Rincon. Excellent prices & excellent food and service. Ambiance in El Rincon is superb. Don't miss corvina (sea bass) a la plancha (grilled). Take advantage of great fresh shakes & juices, especially tangerine juice (and tamarindo) in the countryside as well as strawberry & maracuya (passion fruit) shake.

There are several restaurants...

There are several restaurants worth mentioning in Panama. However, the restaurant 'Los Cañones' in Portobelo on the atlantic side is one to highlight. This restaurant is located in the entrance of the bay of Portobelo, name given by Christopher Columbus and it literally means beautiful port. Los Cañones has several tables placed under small ranchos outside on a little promontory overlooking the bay. You may relax on a hammock next to the water while you wait for one of their afro-antillan specialties. The octopus in curry sauce or the conch stew are just out of this world. The tables outside overlooking the ocean. Some of them have hammocks to relax while you wait for your order or for that after lunch siesta. If you like Octopus by all means order the Octopus in curry sauce. The lobster and conch are also very fresh and simply delicious. Any of these plates can be served with a side...

Gerald's Place: Germany in Isla Contadora

by nyceagle1633

Gerald's Place is up the hill from the airport. It serves quality food, some German dishes and the dining area is outside. Ate both dinners at Geralds and was satisfied.
