Once you rent a car reach by going south from Cabo Rojo on Rt. 100, past the Puerto Rico Tourism Company office on the right and then right on Rt 101 to the end and you are there!! Use the car you rented or even best the way I do it I rent a bike and ride around the beach the bars and the oyster stands, it's a really fun time that way.
