SCUBA shops and snorkeling tours are usually small, single family operations. If they don't have enough people to make the trip worthwhile, they usually develop a case of 'boat trouble' and will give you the phone number of a 'friend' that might be able to take you out. I would rather go with an independent operator, but it would be helpful to have a more corporate operation as a backup if your plans fall through.
