Condado Plaza and Marriott...

Condado Plaza and Marriott Hotels on the CondadoCondado Plaza on Thurs, Fri, Sat & Sunday.Marriott on Monday, Tues, Wed & Sun. afternoon.Music (local) and people. Lots of locals and tourists so you can see how people interact. Dressy. People care about how they look. Women, don't be afraid to go for it, and wear the things you would on a cruise dressy night, or just plain sexy or bare. If you can't get away with bare, just sexy.Local men don't wear shorts...visitors be aware of that.

We went to a casino at a hotel. It was fun because you only had to be 18 to play. I won more money then anyone and that made me happy. The hotel we were at was very grand and fancy. It was a wonderful atmosphere and made me want to go to Las Vegas! We had to wear nice clothes to the casino because it was in a very nice hotel.

there is a pattern to this. if you are in the metropolitan area(aka san juan) there is a wide variety of clubs and bars just like in any big city in europe or in the states. DUNBARS, THE GALLERY, BACCUS AT CERROMAR, ASYLUM, SHANNANS are a few names. throughout the island though, its pretty much bars with live music most of the nights...and thats when people go, if there is no live music, then people drive to a nearby town that is happening. MAYAGUEZ is a college town so they have more than a few bars. on the west coast 'www.detourpr.com' is a good nightlife and restaurant source. in the condado area of san juan, the older crowds tend to hit the casinos and discos in the hotels. the CERROMAR hotel has a popular casino and a popular disco(on saturday night last i heard).the first tuesday of every month beginning august is 'gallery night' were the galleries at old san juan open their doors...

There is a famos hotel in Puerto Rico (not in Old San Jaun) but in the big city. I think the name of it is the old san jaun hotel either way every-one will know of it. You must go on Fri or Sat night the lobby of it is an unbelivable cat walk of the Latin Chiek. I mean these people spent ALL day at the salon even the men. It is not tacky this is the real thing. Dress chiek (not tacky) or you will feel out of place. There are restaurants and diso's off the lobby, but the lobby has bars and is a great place to party, there is also a casino off the lobby. good luck!where to see and be seen! your best outfit

Babylon in the El San Juan...

by bcc8

Babylon in the El San Juan Hotel in Isle Verde. *THE* club to hit in San Juan. While we were there we spotted many Puerto Rican tv stars and even, gasp, Ricky Martin's brother, haha! The club is two-levels and has very cool blue and green lighting. The DJs play a great mix of dance and hip-hop. At least on the night we went, Friday I think, you had to be 23 or older to get in. Lots of friendly & beautiful people... Dress to impress. (No jeans or athletic wear)

The Arena: The Arena

by bcc8

We went to a Playa Ibiza party here. It's essentially a big warehouse type building. They setup these large screens and showed the music videos of whatever song they were playing. Younger crowd here (18-24)...very friendly. Lots of fun! Casual...shorts and sneaks acceptable.

The Bridge: The Bridge

by bcc8

Very cool looking joint. It has an inside and outside bar. Live band. $15 all you can drink. Younger crowd here (18-22) Not as friendly as the other places, but great scenery, haha! No shorts or sneakers.

by DCsalsera

Watch out for the nightlife. If you're a salsa dancer like us, a late-night MUST is the Habana Club. This place doesn't get started until around 3AM and is open until 10AM...it's small, but great dancers and people playing instruments with the music. Also, there was live music at the Mariott some nights, and a nice dance floor. For your merengueros, try a place called Cafe San Juan...merengue and bachataHabana Club - Very few tourists ever go here.....so be ready to get a few stares, but if you can prove yourself on the dance floor, you'll be accepted immediately! Cafe San Juan is frequented by the Dominican population that lives in Puerto Rico, tourists will definitely stick out so if you don't like merengue or feel uncomfortable in a place where there aren't any gringos, don't go! Live music..cute spot. No dress code...but it gets hot, so the less=better

by Pegasus74

You will find nighttime activities wherever and however you want. Of particular interest is the 'LeLoLai', a program of musical shows. Piano bars are everywhere in many Isla Verde hotels. Latin-music - salsa and merengue rhythms, are widely played in nightclubs, discotheques and hotel lobby lounges. Check out the Babylon Discotheque in El San Juan Hotel, they've got pretty elegant ambience.
