    Roasted Pig: Delicious Piggie

All sorts of Pork can be found in Puerto Rico. They love it! Pork, plantains, and rice are probably the 3 major food groups! Anyway, driving around you can find folks selling roast pork on the sides of the road. It is delicious! I recommend trying it, street food can be a concern for some people. But I can promise you won't be sorry!

**Ps. It is cheap too. A piece of roast pork and rice will cost you only about $5!**

Al Dente: Italian Restaurant in Old San Juan

by joiwatani Written Nov 2, 2011

This restaurant is probably the oldest Italian restaurant in Puerto Rico serving the local residents and tourists, celebrities and heads of states. It is very famous to the upper class residents as it is a little bit on the pricy side.

This restaurant has a nice presentation and creative but authentic Italian food.

It has an excellent wine bar with over 140 selections of wines. There is also a patio seating.

    Casual dress codes.

This is a highly recommended restaurant by the Old San Juan Areas and Urban Guides.

The restaurant has daily specials and open on Mondays-Thursdays 11:30 am -10:30 m.

Friday and Saturday schedule is from 11:30 am to 11 pm.

Barrachina: Awesome food in Isla Verde

    by ffpulley77 Written Jan 30, 2010

This place was awesome!!! I had the lobster and steak and all I can say is WOW. They had a great selection of spirits also. They say it's where the pina colada was invented and my wife seems to think it was the best one she's ever had. I on the other hand drink vodka and they had my favorite, which is Belvedere and also had my close second which is Finlandia. So I was happy too.

    Roadside Stand: Don't Be Afraid

by grandmaR Updated Apr 11, 2009

While there are lots of restaurants and even US chains available, don't be afraid to try a local roadside stand.

Favorite Dish: Cheese taco and a milk shake was $6.00. The milk shade was made with ice and milk, and not ice cream

Paradise Seafood Restaurant: Seafood on the beach!

This was a "nice" local restaurant in Playa Punta Santiago. We choose it solely because it was on the tourist map given to us in San Juan. Everything was very good tasting! A little expensive for the ambience...makes one kind of think they are just allowed to charge high because they are on the map! Regardless...the food was good...just not super memorable!

    Entering the city limits.
