Fishing in Salinas gives you a wonderfully intimate knowledge of the area, provides you an opportunity to meet locals & local fisherfolks, offers you a relaxing way of seeing the area, and gives you a hands-on activity where you get to reap the benefits of your day's labor by having a wonderful seafood feast for dinner. Not only did I have tons of fun finding fish & catching it, but I also immensely enjoyed eating my "catch of the day" for dinner. What a terrific way to spend your vacation!
By the way, the fisherfolks of the area are actively managing the precious natural resources they have and are well-organized to protect it at all cost from unnecessary abuse & environmental degradation.
Sailing is a wonderful activity in the south of Puerto Rico. The south typically gets less rain and more sun throughout the year compared to the north, so it makes it an ideal location for water-related activities such as sailing, among others. Though, I'd like to give caution that an unlikely build-up of storms can develop closer to the rainy season, and if you are in the middle of the sea at an unfortunate time, then you can be suddenly caught up in a perfect storm that can cause the sail boat to capsize. Don't say that I didn't give you an advance warning.
