I brought 1 carry on and 1 large suite case, and it was too much!
Depending on when u go, I went in June...thats not the best time at all to go. We did because we had no choice. anyways I wore alot of tank tops during this time. Clothes that your body can breathe in..linen, cotton, deffinately no clothes with spandex in them or silk...you'll be over heated. Oh, and even in jean shorts...gets too hot! Dress light
Mosquito spray for sure! And a cream for bug bites for when u get to itchy! Lots of Sunblock. And something for headaches!
Anykind will do.....Who wants to drag around all kinds of equipment...unless thats what ya do...I didn't....Your too busy going from place to place its just a pain to have alot with u...travel around with less...make it simple!
Obviously bathing suite, extra one as well. Few big beach towels...depends on when u go weather u need a light jacket or not, December to February maybe a jacket at night. When ya go through the Mountains to see the river, make sure you keep your camera put away when not in use, or your cell phones (I dont use on vacation) I seen a guy trying to hike in the mountains while climbing a rock he dropped his phone in the water!!! And their towels dragged through the streams! Keep everything put away until u get to where u want to be! Just be wise : ) Bring enough to drink and enough food that you think you will need....U can never have enough liquids....Bring lots! Becareful! Bring also the right shoes make sure they have good traction! I made the mistake of wearing sandals because we weren't told ahead of time...The locals just go barefoot when climbing. Leave a Comment

Beautiful clear skies by Gypsystravels This is a tropical island, so warm clothes are the ticket. I try to take as little as possible and items that I can mix and match.
I usually where something that can go from any weather (if it is winter in NY, then I wear a pair of jeans, walking shoes, t-shirt with a sweather on tope and my jacket). I also carry my tooth brush (no morning breath here), something to read, glasses, contact case and travel solution, Tylenol (I usually get headaches during long flights). 2 pair of slacks usually one black and one white black jacket to dress up the slacks or for casual dinning) 3 dresses, usually 1 black dress and the other two can be floral or solid cotton or linen which can go from day to night 1 pair of Capri's 3 skirts or shorts which can be worn either during the day or into the early evening 2 white t-shirts or tank tops 3 casual/dress shirts 1 pair of flip-flops for the beach 1 walking shoes for daytime touring 2 pairs sandals 2 bathing suits and 2 cover-ups one week’s worth of undergarments 2-3 pajamas or oversized t-shirts for sleeping
4 spare pairs of contact lenses contact lens solution spare glasses extra pair of sunglasses blow dryer (never leave home without it) travel iron cosmetics in a travel case my favorite shampoo and conditioner in travel sizes hand and body lotion travel size Tylenol, allergy medication and any other medication I am taking at the time Hair accessories, brush, hats or caps 2 cameras, plenty of film and extra batteries for the camera Guide books, itineraries, maps, an extra ATM card for withdrawal from savings if my regular card fails, 2 credit cards, $500 in cash for just in case of emergency Extra travel bag to put all my purchases in. by Sovman_PR A medium sized suitcase and a comfortable backpack to carry your camera, water (don't forget the water when walking in San Juan during the summer,) chapstick, any travel guides you might have and other things you might need to protect against the sun.
I'd recommend of course bringing sun glasses or any sort of hat to shield you from the Sun. The weather here is warm year round so bring pleanty of cool clothes but don't forget to bring an umbrella and a sweater; it can get cool some nights, you'll need it if you are going to the interior of PR and when you get here you will see that Puerto Ricans love Air Conditioning which is why some restaurants or stores may be much cooler than outside...
Be sure to bring or purchase plenty of sun screen when coming to San Juan, especially if you are coming from a temperate country and haven't catched sun rays in a while.
Any type of camera should be alright, you may want to bring backup batteries for your camera if it uses the special kind of batteries. Leave a Comment

Remember San Juan is a bif modern americanized city; everything you can uy in Seattle or Idafo City can be bought here. We have the biggest Macy's in the country! My suggestion is to bring lots of your own hometown tee shirts. 'Tees' from out of town are valued local fashion items and make great irreplaceable gifts for new local amigos and amigas. by nygaston Bring nothing except your camera and you teeth brush. Here you can find everything you can buy in states; it is like another US state.
light dress and swimming dress.
Lot of beaches on East and West coast.
it is sometimes difficult to find an accomodation in the east coast. it is easier on north and west side. Leave a Comment

A backpack for walking in San Juan for your goodies is a good idea so your hands are free for taking pictures.
A light jacket is advisable since it can get cool in the evenings. Shorts, t-shirts, comfortable shoes for walking. Dress clothes and clubbing clothes, there are some really good restaurants that don't except shorts or jeans.
The usual.

Make sure you have comfortable shoes. The sidewalks tend to be very uneven and some are cobbles, which are hard on the feet. Leave a Comment

Even if you're travelling in winter, be sure to carry sunblock. You can get sunburned even in January. Leave a Comment
