Plaza Las Americas is San Juan's mall, located about 15-20 minutes from downtown and the cruise ship piers. It's a good thing, if you're homesick and craving to do some actual shopping.
Plaza Las Americas boasts a lot of the American brands, as well as some local stores. The prices are typical for various things. I bought me my digital camera here for about 270 USD. Not bad I guess.
Helpfulness
This is San Juan and Puerto Rico's most famous Mall of the Americas. It has designers unknown to the contiguous US, and it's all cheaper, many with outlet prices plus Puerto Rico's wonderful lack of a sales tax works wonders on the shopper's soul.
What to buy:
Books, furniture, clothes, shoes, accessories, computer games, you name it, it's there.
