You can get to Nevis from St.Kitts by plane or ferry. We chose to fly. It is a very short flight into Newcastle Airport.
The first time we flew on Liat. The second time we had a charter flight and we came in that little bitty plane.Related to:

Its a long way to swim, plane is the best way, flipping long way though
Taxi's are not cheap, we rented a couple of scooters, which were reasonable although not very reliable, but, the island is small and very safe, everyone is so friendly

Make international connections from Antigua.
Use a tour company. I recommend Flamboyant Tours. Ask for Troy Hendrickson, Flamboyant Tours, P.O. Box 142, St Kitts. I got a very informative tour that included tales of the carib woman, Barbie

Have the front desk of your resort set up the car. They'll pick you up, drive into town to get a license ($10-15) and away you go. Watch the curbs with those frisbee tires. Had a blow out a night......darnn that Turtle Beach.

American Eagle offers daily connections to St. Kitts from American's hub in San Juan. Leeward Islands Air Transport (LIAT) and Windward Islands Airways (Winair) serve St. Kitts from either San Juan, Puerto Rico, or the nearby islands of Antigua, Sint Maarten/Saint-Martin, and others.
Short-hop flights on local airlines—like Air St. Kitts-Nevis, Nevis Express, and St. Croix-based Coastal Air Transport—provide regular on-demand service to Nevis from St. Kitts and other islands. For a more unusual experience, take the Caribe Queen, a 45-minute ferry from Basseterre, capital of St. Kitts to Charlestown.
A departure tax is charged to all tourists leaving the Robert Llewelyn Bradshaw International Airport and for non-St. Kitts flights departing from Newcastle Airport on Nevis.
Local transportation is available via mini-buses and taxis. Fares are usually quoted in Eastern Caribbean (EC) dollars, but ask to be sure. Automobiles may be rented from a variety of agencies. A visitor's driver's license is required and can be obtained from the Police Traffic Department or car rental agency for a fee. Driving is on the left side.
