  • Women's Prison in Kingstown

    Just outside of Kingstown is a Fort (Charolette) which is one of the few 'touristy' things to do in St Vincent. Just outside the fort is the women's prison which you can walk around the perimeter - it is very dismal conditions!At the fort there is also an interesting display of art documenting the history of colonization in St Vincent.

  • Take a crazy cab ride

    On our way to the volcano, we rode in an open air cab for about 1 1/2 hours. We hugged the rugged coast of the island almost the whole way. We stopped at a banana farm in the jungle so our guide could purchase us some fresh picked bananas for our climb. We then stopped in Georgetown and got water and hot curried roti's for our fanny packs too!...

  • An Unremarkable Monument with Remarkable...

    A monument to Chatoyer, a Carib tribal chieftain killed in the Brigands War, is located on Dorsetshire Hill on St. Vincent. The monument is a forgettable, but historic, curiosity located next to, of all things, SVG's main television and radio station. However, the views make it worth the trip.
