    Black Tunnel Point

    2.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

At the black tunnel beach/point there is a tunnel made thru the mountain....which was built some 100 years ago to transport sugar from this side to the other side of the jetty very fast and it can be loaded on ships easily during low tide days...it cost around 5000 pounds to make this tunnel (during those days!!!)

I have been told this place has been selected for the suiting "Pirates of the Caribbean - II"

view of Airport & Indian Bay

When you travel on the road to Kingstown from the airport you will cross this place...which has an amazing view of the Indian Bay, the airport run way and the famous cricket ground (this is not an international ground, but will be used for practice matches during the worldcup 2007)

What better thing to do on a Caribbean island than visit the film site of the Pirates of the Caribbean? We had lunch at the restaurant on site and it was FABULOUS! Our taxi/tour guide guy suggested we eat there. I had the Fish Creole and my husband had BBQ pork. Local lunch and a cold beer for $10 US incl. tip? My kinda place!!

    Garden Entrance

There are a lot of interesting plants in this garden but you'll probably need a guide to describe them to you. The cinnamon tree, the smelly sock tree. Also you can see the island bird here. It's a pretty garden and not very big. Entrance fees are like $4 US pp and you are expected to tip the guide, but he is not required to walk around the garden. There is a breadfruit tree here rumored to be a descendent from Captain Bligh's famous tree.

Imagine playing in warm, crystal blue water while swimming with colorful fishies. It is a dream , but quite real in the Caribbean
