Getting to Half Moon Cay, because it's a private island, it's only possible if you are on a cruise ship. In my case it was with Carnival Cruises, which I'm not sure I'd really recommend. Anyway this was the best place we stopped on the cruise, and for a simple reason: it's extremely scenic, off the beaten path and very tiny... which means it makes sense to stop for a day... and you won't have the feeling that your stay has been rushed.

Half Moon Cay is a tender port. The ship’s tenders will deliver you to the pier, which is an advantage BUT only if the weather's fine. I was told that the cruise previous to mine could not make this heavenly stop because of the rough seas.

    Ship Lifeboats or Tenders

There is no dock for large ships here. You have to take the tender or lifeboat to shore. And you will need a ticket from the ship to get onto the tender.

    Way a day!!!

The ONLY way you can get there is by Ship. Half Moon Cay is a tender port. The ship’s tenders will deliver you to the pier. See your travel agent for details on cruises.
