Our Sunset! by tpangelinan This was the sunset we were blessed with the night of our wedding just after we got done. Before the wedding started it looked like it was going to rain as a big black cloud rolled in from the ocean. We prayed that it would hold off at least until we were done and it cleared up in five minutes and it turned out to be a perfect sky after all. Just thought I'd share that little moment. I got up almost every morning to catch a sunrise and it was well worth it! Time is limited to about 20 to 30 minutes of good color so have those batteries ready. Then back off to bed! I didn't say you had to stay up, just get up and catch one! :o) Leave a Comment

We booked this which is a first for us, not to bad, the steak & lobster was ok, Bahama Mama's were very strong, couldn't drink them so I bought beers for 2 dollars. After dinner they ask every one to come down to the lower deck where the entertainment begins which is dancing, drinking then a linbo contest which this one dec hand was really good at. All in all it was pretty fun and lasted about 3 1/2 hours. Dinner was a nice quiet run through the inter coastal waters, then when dinner was done we went out off the coast for a little while, there was a full moon out and a nice clear night. We are not real drinkers so if you are this will be a blast. All the deckhands get people up dancing and having fun. Leave a Comment

Make sure you go one path to the beach and use the other on the way back because they are both very different. The one photo is of the, let's say "falling part looking walk" is rather sturdy to our joy, but made for some interesting steps. All in all this was well worth the time and made for some nice photos too. Leave a Comment

After you have finished walking through the jungle and caves, take a walk across the street to the Gold Rock Beach walk which gives you 2 paths the choose, 1) via the creek trail or 2) the Mangrove Swamp Trail which is longer. Go in one way and walk out the other, it gives you a real feel of the ecosystems that exist there. Did I mention bring you camera and pleny of batteries. The beaches here are have perfect white sand and beautiful clear water, just perfect! Leave a Comment

While on the island you may want to check out the Lucayan National Park. It cost $3 to go through and is worth the donation to the park. The park has plenty to keep you busy for several hours like caves, beaches, mangrove trees, birds, fish, lizards all can be found a long a really nice nature walk. Bring you camera and plenty of batteries. The caves here at the park are the largest underwater system in the world and you can dive in them only in certain spots and you need special permission. Leave a Comment Directions: Go East on Grand Bahama Hwy and look for the sign just after North Ring Point Club, the park will be on you left

From the Website by TheAxleys This neat marketplace is not open long (until 5) but it is really neat to go to in the daytime. Very culturistc and makes you feel like you are in a different country (almost like in India or Africa). The shop tenants are a little pushy to get you to come in their shops, so have an excuse ready if you don't want to shop there. If you have a question don't just go up to them and ask questions, ask them how their day is and such. They will push you very hard to buy something from them, but be stern and barginwith them. They WILL bargin. If you go in the afternoon, they are tired and sell easily. Most restaraunts are closed until 5 and are open until 2am. Definately buy shirts and stuff from the market place, they are the exact same as everywhere else and are much cheaper (by at least $5 WITHOUT bargining). Overall, this is the best place to shop, eat, and bar hop.

From the website by TheAxleys We got picked up at our hotel and had to make some other pits stops along the way to pick up other folks for our trip. Chad, our tour guide, was awesome. He loves the Bahamas and has strong feelings about his country and is absolutely hilarious! We made it to our drop off point and we unloaded the kayaks and we were on our way to Peterson Cay (pronounced "key"). After we made it there we snorkeled all around the Cay and it was beautiful. Much better than spending money on scuba diving (not to mention having to pay to get certified)! Chad explained everything, (even though much of our group were at least novices). After about on hour and a half of snorkeling, Chad brought out the dinner table and we had a delicous lunch of ham and turkey sandwiches with all the trimmings, and headed back to the van on the 30 min kayak trip back to the "main land." If you go try to get CHAD and you will need to take socks or fin boots because the fins run slight small. Also, you will need any personal items such as sun screen, a towel, etc. They provide equipment and lunch (which is good). Oh yea, the hermit crabs on the island our awesome - it was a great commune with nature!! Address: They come and pick you up!Phone: (242) 373-2485Directions: Call ahead to reserve a spot, and let them know where you are staying so they can come get you.Website: http://www.grandbahamanaturetours.com/ Other Contact: 1-866-440-4542
