Atlantis/Paradise, The Bahamas
The pools and water slides of the atlantis resort are amazing and definately worth going to even if you're not staying there. (day passes are sold in the shopping center by the hotel and access is granted when you are staying at the comfort suites or other adjacent hotels). The whole landscape is incredible and the man-made beaches and waterfalls are breathtaking.
Fondest memory: I definately miss the perfect crystal clear pool-like turquoise waters which you can only find in the bahamas. It's always on my mind!
My family and I did the Sea Island Adventures snorkeling trip. It was outstanding! Rose Island is their private island and the reef is right off the beach. I took dry dog food and the fish ate out of our hands. Their were also water crafts and lounge chairs. They provided a bar-b-que lunch that was delicious.
Fondest memory: The beach on Paradise Island in front of the Sheraton Grand is not big, but it is well maintained. Whatever water sport you want to do is available right there. It was so relaxing just to lie on the beach in the sun.
Walk the length of the beach from the Atlantis resort all the way to the right.. extends out to a point and the sand gets progressively softer and finer.. like its being sifted as you go.. at the end is powdered sugar.. delicious on the feet!! There's places to stop for a drink and it only takes about an hour. Each way. :]
Fondest memory: Ooohhh hands down it's the food.. Great Chefs!! An absolute feast every night.. the restaurants at the resort are divine.. very expensive though. The decor at each is elegant and lovely to look at..
Everything is lovely to look at now that I think about it.. !!
GO DIRECTLY TO PARADISE ISLAND...
This place was the nicest of all. It has the best hotels and water you could possibly imagine.
The picture is of the waterslide at the Atlantis Hotel. It runs through the tank where there's dozens of sharks. Don't worry...it has a see through tube that you can actually see people going down from the side.So cool.
swim with the dolphins . this time around I made a point to have a dolphin encounter and his name was Shawn .
also while visiting the island stop in and take a look at the Atlantis Resort . it is in a class of it's own .
Fondest memory: fondest memory of the island are the people . both times I have visited the island people were super friendly and very helpful , they are always smiling .
I went to work in the Bahamas Paradise Island for Club Med society. As a bartender and dancer, and whatever else they wanted me to do I did not have much time to visit the Island. My main purpose was work. And when it is for Club Med you really work. My appreciation of the Island is based on what I saw and did in comparison to other Islands in the Carribean. For people who love snorkling and sailing or any other water related activities it is the ideal place to go to.
Fondest memory: I went to casino once and it was nice since it is not something I look for when I traval but then someone took me and I had a very good time. The show at the casino was very professional : Dancers, stand up comic, etc.. Since I have limited myself to work and visiting the capital to go the casino all I can say about the Bahamas is that I enjoyed going to the casino. It was the only time I went in my life, and at least I think I got to see a very high quality show.
I have visited Nassau. It was a great time. I visited the Paradise Island. The main thing there is the Altlantis Hotel.
All taxis to Paradise Island are very expensive. Yo can go by feet there. A go with a bus (25 cents) to the harbor. from there is a bridge, where can go by feet. You have a good sight at the Atlantis Hotel from the bridge.
Favorite thing: See the Atlantis Resort and Casino. We took a tour of its huge aquatic area and then ate at a wonderful restaurant at the Predator Lagoon area before trying our hands on the slots. This place was just gorgeous!
