Underwater, The Bahamas
Even without snorkling you can swim along and see the most amazing sea life, from different neon clored fish to sea urchins...
Fondest memory: Giligans Lagoon (where they filmed for Giligans Island) and the hermit crab races where they would bet money on which crab would finish the race first!
Things to must do,go and dive or snorkle the blue holes,or as locals say boiling holes, must have a guide, and dive pal.Bone fish!See some of the best beaches around, see the Lucayan national park and the caves,Garden of the Groves,Pier 1 restaurant 'they feed the local sharks each night'
Fondest memory: The best memorys of the Island are being on a beach like out at bishops without a soul on the beach and cool drink in hand, and have had a great meal, relaxing with the tropical breeze and my wife saying we will come back real soon! And the local we miss, like jenks from margaritaville or Mr Bishop! This is a photo of a blue hole, boiling hole, underwater cave cool to dive!!
SNORKELING AND SCUBA ARE THE BEST IN THE AREA , IT'S AS IF THE FISH HAD BATTERIES TO SHOW OFF THEIR COLORS .
THERE ARE SO MANY REEFS TO GO TO EITHER BY YOUR SELF OR WITH A PLANNED TRIP .
Fondest memory: THE SOLITUDE OF THE ISLAND (ABACO ) YOU CAN GO SHOPPING IN LITTLE SWITZERLAND AND THEN BE ON A SECLUDED BEACH WITH NO ONE AROUND BUT THE BEAUTY OF THE SURROUNDINGS .
Snorkel the reefs. The underwater is one of the best things about he Bahamas. The coral, and the fish are much better than the Florida Keys and the water is clearer. Visit the local people in the small towns who are not influenced by the tourism dollar if you can.
Fondest memory: Sailing thru reefs with coral heads all around.
I have to say that that night diving is my favorite kind of underwater adventure. Even on a marginal reef, the environment comes alive under the cover of darkness. If you are a diver, don't miss out on this part of the experience.
Fondest memory: Sometimes you find the magic when you least expect it, especially at night. This photo is of a Carribean Anemone at night, when it is out feeding. There is a bi-valve clam beside it, and tiny little algae stalks in front. This was on a very short fragment of damaged coral reef, right off Bimini. I had been over this spot three times during the daylight and saw nothing of note. When the darkness fell, the world came alive.
Snorkling! The waters are beautiful, and colorful fish everywhere. The animal that lives inside the conch shell is a common meal and added to salads as well as eaten straight from the shell, immediately upon catching. I found this interesting and mildly intimidating, but aan experience non the less. You Gotta try it.
Fondest memory: Again, the water, the beaches are CLEAN. There are many water toys to float upon the water if underwater is not your thing, and the water is so clear that you can see ALOT!
People are very friendly.
snorkling. The islands are just absolutely gorgeous. It is like being in a little paradise. And specially dont forget to take a bus tour through the Islands. The music is just unforgetabble: true reggae.
Fondest memory: Puerto RIco. IT reminds me so much of veracruz mexico. IT was absolutely beautiful.
