I'm not sure what the official name of this beach is called but as the "lone tree" is on it and it's now become a Bahamas landmark, I shall call it "Lone tree beach". Here's a few photo's....

This tree has become a Bahamas landmark in recent years. According to local inhabitants, this large almond tree washed down from a neighbouring cliff during hurricane Andrew in 1992 and was naturally laid to rest in an upright position. It makes for some very photogenic pictures with the shallow water laping around it. It's located on a beach to the north of Dunmore Town.

This sign lies just beside the jetty where the ferry docks in Dunmore Town and makes for an ideal photo opportunity!

There's a daily ferry service that leaves Nassau for Harbour Island and stops in Spanish Wells on the way. There's only one ferry a day in either direction - 08:00 from Nassau and 15:55 from Harbour Island. The trip takes about 2hrs 15mins and costs approx $110. This means you have about 6hrs on the island which is ideal to see everything and relax on Pink Sand Beach. The ferry terminal in Nassau is located near Bay St under the exit bridge to Paradise Island.

Harbour Island Off The Beaten Path

This store is right outside of the airport at North Elethuera...

The people inside were pretty cool, I'd recommend visiting there just for the atmosphere. The lady inside makes awesome handbaskets made out of palm fronds. The prices were good too.

It's just a typical quaint Bahamas store, untouched by tourism..
