Great Inagua is famous for it manufacturing of Salt. There are several very large salt ponds on the island where the sea water is often flooded into and is left to evaporate and crystalise salt.
From the ocean there are mountains of salt that provide an alpine landscape on a pancake terrain.
The Salt lakes are the home for thousands (millions?) of Pink Flamingos.

Cozy Corner is the only place operating for any sort food in Matthew Town. The bar restaurant (can you call it that??) looks like it is decorated in the same unrenevoated and unloved appearance of the town.
The venue is set a couple blocks back from the main road that runs along the ocean front. It has a pool table, a couple small dinner tables with Plastic covers, and a bar with a TV and local channels to boot!
Cozy's caters for eat-in and takeaway, with lots of locals passing in to collect their burgers to-go.
When we tried to order there was only two food options: the Whopper Burger and fried chicken. The lady seemed to be working hard in the kitchen while the guy at the bar relaxed and served nice cold beers.
Locals are friendly (and some a little drunk) Sitting at the bar will guarantee a conversation with one of two of the guys who will tell you a little about life in Great Inagua.
