Nippers Bar and Grill: Unbelievable fun at the best beachside bar ever!

by JacquieDeVita

...According to the Web site...Nippers Beach Bar & Grill – It's Not In the Brochure! You may have read about Nippers in travel magazines, seen photos on calendars, or perhaps even seen a documentary on the Discovery Channel -- but you'll never read about Nippers in any travel brochure. Why? Simply, because this particular piece of paradise can't be adequately described in any number of words or photographs. You simply have to experience it for yourself. Perched high upon a forty-foot dune, Nippers overlooks the Great Abaco Barrier Reef. Your quest for paradise ends with your discovery of Great Guana Cay. it's easily reached by boat or ferry service from Marsh Harbor. If you have your own vessel and want to spend the night or longer, you can drop anchor in the harbor or hook up on a buoy or dock in a marina. No reservations are required, but Nippers will accept them upon request. Call...

Out Islands: Best local bars on Green Turtle Cay!

by profuselycool

So Green Turtle Cay, a short 15 minute water taxi from Treasure Cay, is by far my favorite Bahamian island. Please go there! ANyways, once you get to the island (which is pretty easy by the way,) you've got to head to Sundowner's in the famous "Old Downtown" at the southernmost tip of the island. Later, head to Pineapple's just up the road. For a bit more flare and live music, the Green Turtle Club on Marsh Harbor in the middle of the island is a great option.GTC is only 3 x 1 miles long, so you can navigate the entire island by golf cart in under an hour. If you're going to the Abacos anytime soon, look for GTC! absolutely whatever

Bahamas Music/Dance: Junkanoo

by deedlebug

While we were there they had the Junkanoo Festival. It was aewsome. There were so many Local foods and drinks. Singing and dancing all night long. I was so excited we got to go, I had been wanting to ever since I saw the movie After the Sunset. :-) Casual, Tropical

Nassau: Casino... is there anyhting else

by XKuger

I stayed at the Atlantis and besides the lame night clubs that they have for kids. There wasn't much night life in the resort, Most people just hit the Casion's once it gets dark. Also getting into downtown become an issue as there are no ferry boats into town. You need to get a cab, where fares are negotiable based on how you look /dressed.Whts worse is that almost everyhting is closed once the cruise ships depart. I went into two and did not find anyhting to eat.... the streets look deserted and scary. As a tourist you look like a running target. I finally walked quickly to Senior frogs and had dinner. They will take you money as long as you have shirt/shoes.I did see some people over dressedin tucks and playing the slot machines.. Maybe they got ripped off at one of the high prices restaurents and now loosing theit shirt in the Casino

Atlantis: AURA

by chantaylove1

Brand new nightclub AURA at the hotel Atlantis. Good coctails, music is OK, few dancers..but you will have very limited area if you are not in VIP. no sneakers, im not sure about jeans, havent seen anybody with jeans on.

Bahama Mama: Small but fun!

by carolinak2

It might seem small and simple bar, but that's just the Bahamian way! Start the night there, have a Tequila, watch someone drinking a bodyshot, laugh, meet the owner, talk to local people! Enjoy it! Just wear comfortable clothes

Bahama Mama Booze Cruise: Party till you. . .

by diver-x

You can't go to Grand Bahama without somebody trying to sell you tickets to the Bahama Mama Booze Cruise. You get all the Bahama Mamas you can drink and hors d'oevres too. They warn you that the drinks will sneak up on you, but I disagree. Those drinks stand right up in front of you and smack you in the face! A bus ride is included in the ticket price and it is highly recommended that you take it! Admission is $29, and children are not allowed. There is no dress code, but most people dressed smartly.

Cruise Ship: Excellent Entertainment/Party areas

by Chrissy1967

It was a different experience dancing on a ship with the waves and the motion. It certainly made drinking your Bahama Mama's a fun night. But the night club on the cruise was full of fun and meeting new people, which some were rather interesting!

Port Lucaya: Nightlife in Freeport

by miclev21

Freeport - I have been here. Port Lucaya is the main place to be as I remember. There is nightlife/etc. You should check on the area and see what happened b/c of the hurricanes/etc. I would look at Tripadvisor.com or VirtualTourist.com for some rec's for hotels. Everything.

The marketplace courtyard at Port Lucaya: Relax with music and a pina colada

by evebeals

Get a pina colada and settle down with your friends or significant other on one of the benches or tables around the courtyard in the marketplace, where free music is offered nightly by local bands, and the locals as well as the tourists gather and occasionally dance. The music is free, and although the quality of the performances vary, it is almost always enjoyable, and is a nice, romantic way to sample the local culture. Whatever you want - if you're coming from a nice restaurant like La Dolce Vita, being dressed up is certainly appropriate, though if you are coming from the beach, a halter top and shorts is fine too.
