    Because it's always so freaking HOT in the Philippines, in addition to light, cool clothing, the kind you need in August, the one item that you should have severl of are handkerchiefs. You'll sweat like a goose on Christmas Eve, and a handkerchief will help keep your face, neck and eyes dry.

    You don't really need to take too many clothes, not many people dressed up in the evenings, most people wore only shorts and tops. Quite a lot of the clothes I took didn't get worn, a couple of times I felt over dressed.
