Senior Frogs: Senior Frogs

by XKuger

This was one of the only value places that I found in the Bahamas where you can have a full mean at a reasonable price and not go hungry. The atmosphere is always lively, most of the cruise crowd come in during the day and they have activities for kids with baloons an craft stuff being distributed. The adults get these huge margaritas and occasionally there is a DJ who walks aroud and gives you free shots of rum for doing funny tricks. A very lively enviornment, you can choose to be at the bar in the middle of all the action or find a seat in the back and over look the ocean and enjoy your food. However you cannot avoid the loud music.. hey its the bahamas enjoy it while it lasts. I had the vegetable enchiladas and my wife had the chicken fahitas. Bother were really large portions that were server with salad, refried beans and rice on the side. There was also complimentary nachos.I...

Grey's Churrascia: A hidden treasure

by nycbree

The service at Grey's Churrascia(sp) was unbelievable. They were so friendly and accomodating. Because of my dietary needs (no pork) I was offered a discount, if I didn't feel the other types of meat were sufficient. The smoking room, reminiscent of The Oak Room in NY, is cozy and comfortable. The Churrascia restaurants in NY are not nearly as friendly or accomodating. However, the concept is the same. Salads, vegetables and pasta self serve and the variety of meats are brought to your table. If you want it, you are served it, If not, you can pass.

Cruise Ship: Wonderful Spread!

by Chrissy1967

The cruise ship had any and all kinds of foods you could imagine. Although, it wasn't the first thing on my list, I certainly did enjoy being pampered and the Captin's dinner was a very elegant night, as you can see in the photo they invited us to join them.

La Dolce Vita and The Pub at Port Lucaya: Scrumptious Italian and Local Fare

by evebeals

La Dolce Vita serves scrumptious Italian food, well worth the the slightly pricier menu. For local cuisine, most of the restaurants in the marketplace are quite palatable, though the one I've made the most return visits to is the Pub at Port Lucaya.La Dolce Vita is an excellent choice for romantic dining (it's where I celebrated my first newlywed birthday!), and the Pub at Port Lucaya is good for a hearty midday meal - eat on the patio and enjoy the ocean breeze. Almost anything at La Dolce Vita should be good. My general recommendation for those sampling the local offerings would be conch chowder or fried conch, or other seafood specialties. Pigeon peas and rice is also a yummy local favorite.

Big D's: Best Conch Salad in Exuma

by ktduncan

Awesome conch salad. Big D is a really friendly guy who took some time and showed us how he made the salad. He even gave us some spoons that were carved out of conch shell.Plus the location is right on the beach. Tough to beat sitting outside at Big Ds with a Kalik and a conch salad.

peir 51: shark encounters

by K-LO222

great food...while you eat the bell rings and about 80 wild sharks swim up to the peir as they are fed meat from the roof top. sit and watch the feeding frenzy as you dine on anything from chicken to shark itself. they have been doing this for 20 years so the sharks know to go there to eat. all sizes from 1 foot to 20 feet, hammerheads, reefs, and big old suckers. this was an amazing experiance. grilled shark

Lucaya - Pisces Seafood House & Pizzeria: Fish and Pizza

by grandmaR

This restaurant is close to Our Lucaya, and is very popular and crowded. Go early or you will have to wait an hour for a table. This is not a restaurant to take the children to if they are really hungry already. There did not seem to be any organized system for seating people, nor for getting people their food. Their website says they have take-out during all operating hours which are: Lunch 11am to 6pmDinner 6pm to 2:00am(Closed Sundays)So perhaps ordering take-out might be a possibility.Inside it has stained glass lighting, local shell work, beveled mirrored walls and etched glass windows. Kind of like a tropical Ruby Tuesday in decor. For a picture of the outside see the restaurant tip by Kathy Collins. It's painted turquoise at the moment. Most of the food was either pizza or seafood which I found an odd combination. They also have curries and pasta. I'm pretty sure we got pizza,...

Tiajuana's Restaurant & Cantina: Mexican in the Caribbean

by diver-x

Tiajuana's is on a upper floor in a building on the water. They have a nice veranda for dining outside and tables inside for those who prefer air conditioning. Tiajuana's is average for Mexican. My Tostada looked like it had been microwaved. The chiles are very spicey and the margaritas, though on the smallish side, are potent. I only needed one.

Tip Photo
Zorba's Authentic Greek Cuisine: Casual dining

by diver-x

Zorba's has the atmosphere of a typical Greek sub shop or pizza place, although their menu is more varied. I enjoyed Zorba's, but it was twice the price I'd pay at home. Unfortunately, it's cheap for Grand Bahama. I got the Zorba Platter, which was a sampler of chicken, shish and gyro meat with salad and fries.
