Southern Edge (a.k.a. "The Edge"): The pre-party hangout
The Edge is a local's hangout in south San Fernando. It is a large place, which is good because depending on the night, it can be quite busy. But it is typically pretty quiet before 8pm and tends to pick up around 10pm.
On Wednesday's they have open-mic karaoke. Other days are typically with a DJ.
Often times, this is the meeting place for the pre-party and crowds may migrate to the clubs later in the evening.
There is a fully stocked bar and a decent bar-food menu.
Lunch 2pm to 4pm (closed Sunday)
Dinner is daily 6pm to 10pm
Open until 11pm Monday~Thursday
Open until 2am Friday & Saturday
Dress Code: Dress code is not strictly enforced, but is posted as being no shorts, no t-shirts, no athletic shoes.
Uncle Sam's: Where the locals lime
Uncle Sam's is a decent hang out. There is a large, long bar in one room with a few high tables and TV screens. There is a second room with short tables and booths.
The locals will often take their happy hours here and lime a bit on weekends before going to the clubs. I went here a few times and always found it to have a decent amount of patrons.
Dress Code: The dress code is completely casual
