Sitara: Authentic Indian

While there are more roti shops and Indian themed restaurants in Trinidad than one could think possible, Sitara is a great find. Having spent several months in India, the cuisine here is in my opinion, the closest thing to authentic Indian in South.The restaurant is casually elegant. There will be white linens on the tables, but the atmosphere is still very casual. Lots of jeweled and sequined tapestries hanging on the walls. I went here a few times with a few different people. All the dishes we had were great. The portions may look small at first, but they fill you up quickly. Ask the wait staff for recommendations if you think you may be ordering too much or too little.The fish, chicken and vegetable curries were fantastic!Buffets are available 6pm ~ ? on Saturday & 11am-3pm on Sunday.But menu dishes are available at all times.They offer take away also.

Jenny's Wok & Steak House: Best Chinese & Local in town

All of the guys I worked with recommended Jenny's above all others for being a quality restaurant, and more specifically for being a locally owned establishment.The restaurant has a more formal dining area and a more casual bar area. Both serve from the same menu.If you opt to dine in the dining room, there is a dress code. No shorts, no sandals, and no tank tops. The bar area has no established dress code, but most people will still be dressed respectably.I wound up coming here a couple times after having a good experience the first time. The dishes come in variable sizes (1/4 ; 1/2 ; full ration). Typically served family style where everyone shares the dishes on the table.The butter fried squid was excellent! As was the fish in black bean sauce and the pork & mushrooms.
