by Datoner The annual Tobago kite-flying competition. Takes place at the end of the year and attracts locals and tourists alike. There are several categories in which you can enter. Last year my dad and I entered the 'foreign kite' competition and ended up third!!! .... Well, ehmm ok, I have to admit... there were only four competitors in this category and the competitor who took fourth place didn't produce any airtime... but still... we ended up third!! (grin..) The main event was a huge kite that was about seven meters high and it took a team of 12 people to get this thing in the air. It really was amazing: that thing could actually lift a truck, so they had to tie it up to a tree. Next year the team promised to bring even a bigger kite, so I sure hope to be there when the time comes... Btw Check out my dad's professional grip on the kite string..! Did I already mention that we ended up third place ..? :) Leave a Comment Address: Plymouth, Tobago.

by simbac2001 Maracas Beach, a few minutes drive from the Maracas Bay Hotel, before the beach is Maracas Look out, from this point you can stop and enjoy a boiled corn or a cool coconut water or beer and at the same time try the Trinis' mouth watering pickles in different types of colourful fruits. Unbelievable its 700 feet below the across the horizon you can get a fairly clear picture of the beach, the mountain ranges are spectacular from this view. Clean, Clear white sand beach, you can rent water sport equipment, indulge yourself in the sun or enjoy a cool shade under the palm tree or take a splash or two and at the same time listen to some mixed music which keeps the surrounding lively. To get a panoramic view of Port of Spain, the capital of Trinidad & Tobago. As the plaque at the site indicates, it was build by an Ashanti Statesman from London to offer protection to the Capital and it is remarkably placed and built on the mountain overlooking the capital. Being built in 1888, it is remarkable that the physical structure has maintained much of its original form. Leave a Comment Address: Fort George Hill

by Chantilly18 The Annual Boat Race in Tobago Every year they have the Boat Race in Trinidad&Tobago. From Crown Point you can watch the race while drinking your cocktail at The Crown Point Hotel. For the local people this a big event, so the beach (Store Bay) is very crowded and everybody is drunk. For young people and old people this is an event to party hardy!! People from Trinidad come to Tobago to experience this event. In the morning I was walking down the road and you could see that the local people from allover the island were gathering at Store Bay to start their big lime. All day you hear loud music, which is fun, and see people winin' and dinin' everywhere. I had a good time! The Boatrace usually starts before the Heritage Festival starts in Tobago, so somewhere in july. Leave a Comment Address: Store Bay, Tobago
