The best roti i have ever had in my entire life, food is tasty and very consistent with the taste and flavors....... you can eat there everyday and the food is always delicious. recommend this restaurant 100%.
Favorite Dish: This restaurant is known for the best roti in town, and it's the best roti you will ever have on the island.

Good position on beach but no menu with prices which if one wants to be charitable could explain why Vera's prices vary not only from day to day but also from customer to customer. If you are new to rotis you will probably enjoy them here, but if you have experienced better as for example as served by the Pancake House you will see how stodgy they are.
If you are really hungry a handy tip is to ask a local to buy for you.... marked price difference. (Yes I visit Castara regularly).
Hard to compare prices given they vary however 100$TT, paid by friends 2 years ago, for a couple of small pieces of chicken and handful of chips was definitely more expensive than average.

We came back to Castara for the second time. Our favourite place to eat was closed (I think it was monday) so we went to the only one open, which was Cascerole. We was waiting about an hour for the food, because fishermans just brought a fresh fish straight from the sea.
We was hungry and I though I would be very angry if the food is not tasty. Unfortunately the disappointment was huge. Food looked bad, little spoon of rice, nasty macaroni pie and mushy red kidney beans with no taste. Fish was hard (barracuda if beliving the cook lady) and served without any care for customer's stomach. Very bad expierence.
When it came to paying the bill, the lady started to look up in a notebook, checking... and called the price (for 2) of TT$146! Double price for foreigners... I know that (especially that people sitting next to us, ordering exactly the same paid TT$70) but I would not complain if the food was good, tasty and filling the stomach. It wasn't. That's why I cannot recomment this place at all.

There are few restaurants in Castara Bay but that was the one that is not described in a trave guide. Situated on a beach a small restaurant serving hot roti in the lunch time. The owner, a dougla lady and her doughter were very friendly and welcoming. i have ordered a fish roti and my husband a chicken roti. The lady told us that she serve roti in the lunch time and in the evening she has the diner menu.
We paid only TT$80 and it was the only time we felt we didn't pay double price as in most places.
Favorite Dish: Both of us admitted it was the best meal in Tobago we had so far. Lovely served buss-up-shot roti (ask for more if you do not use fork) with chana and aloo and some fresh salad. Fish and chicken just mouth watering. Together with cool Shandi it was a perfect meal.

Castara Bay was the only place in Tobago, except Pigeon Point, where we wanted to come back fr the second time. Not only because of the best food we had there but also because of the beautiful road......

Castara, is a small bayside village. The beach is named Castara Beach. It is farther south than the other bays on this side of the island. You will see fish everywhere. They catch them in nets and out...
