Providenciales Island Things to Do

  • Enjoy a Sunset Catamaran Cruise

During our Honeymoon in 2009 Chris and I enjoyed a Sunset Catamaran cruise aboard the Kitty Kat. A few friends from work had chipped in for this as a Honeymoon surprise; which was very sweet of them. Our cruise began early around 2:30pm; since it was November and the sun does set earlier at that time of year. We boarded with six other couples which...

  • Relax in the Adults Only Jacuzzi

You would think staying at a family resort such as Beaches would mean kids running wild everywhere….but it is not the case. The resort sets aside adult only areas for the grown ups to relax kid free. The property has an adults only Jacuzzi right on the beach line in the Caribbean Village. This is a perfect spot to relax at night under the stars...

  • Enjoy a Sunset Catamaran Cruise

As a gift; one of Liz's friends booked us on a sunset catamaran cruise aboard the Kitty Kat. We boarded the catamaran at 2:30pm and set sail for cruise around Grace Bay. There were 6 other people aboard the catamaran so it was not crowded at all. The catamaran had a full bar serving drinks and well as a DJ playing some tunes. It was a perfect day...

Providenciales Island Restaurants

  • Incredible Food and Atmosphere

Hemingway's is a favorite restaurant of locals and visitors. We first discovered Hemmingway's during our Honeymoon in 2009 (Two of Liz's friends recommended the place to us as well as a few locals who worked at our resort) and we've returned here every visit to Provo since then. The restaurant is located at The Sands Resort at Grace Bay. On one side of the bar behind two doors was the smoker's lounge...

The Loung at the Grace Bay club is indeed one of my favorite spots for drinks on Grace Bay. Along with the cozy seating is a fire pit and some beautiful laterns to light up the evening sky.Hubby...

The Infiniti Bar at the Grace Bay Club has been featured on many travel shows and travel publications. The claim to fame here is that it boasts the longest bar in the Caribbean. Hemmingway's is a casual bar/restaurant located at the Sands Hotel. The hotel is located right on lovely Grace Bay in Provo. The bar is at the back of the restaurant with limited seating but they will allow you to have a table in the restaurant just to drink...

Flying on a pass was cheap so our friends came along too....

Providenciales Island Tourist Traps

    by carlogo1969 Written Jun 2, 2006

Imagine a kindergarten with a beach inside it. This is what Beaches is like. The chairs are crammed next to each other. There are better places to stay on Provo that give you more elbow-room and a feeling of relaxation. Crowds are bad on a Caribbean vacation. Beaches has crowds. Ugh. I assume it is all-inclusive and relatively cheap. Those are the only reasons to be there.

Providenciales Island What to Pack

  • Packing for an Island Getaway

We are not big packers so we usually travel with one large suitcase for the two of us. Hubby brings a backpack and I have a large straw bag for my beach hats. Sandals (both dressy and casual, flip flops and water shoes. I usually pack lightweight clothing; mostly sundresses. I am a confessed bikini fanataic and usually bring at least two bikinis...

A hat proved to be one of the most important items next to sunblock on this trip. HAving a hat prevented my head and ears from getting sunburned. It also gave me the needed shade on my face during the strong midday sun. I didn't pack one with me but bought one at the resort. It was the best money I ever spent on a hat.

The frist time I went to Turks and Caicos was in 2011. Since that I'm in love with the place I go twice a year. The beaches are wonderfull, the color of the water is beautifull. The food incredible, I love Heminways, Mango Reef, Yoshi's, Coco Bistro, this are my favorites. I love to shop and I really like Jays, Ana's Gallery and Marazul Bazaar, very unique gifts. As well I found like a litle market on the beach with litle shops. It's all nice, I just love it!!
