Hemmingway's: Delicous Food and Great Atmosphere

by cjg1

Hemingway's is a favorite restaurant of locals and visitors. We first discovered Hemmingways during our Honeymoon in 2009 (Two of Liz's friends recommended the place to us as well as a few locals who worked at our resort) and we've returned here every visit to Provo since then. The restaurant is located at The Sands Resort at Grace Bay. The restaurant is casual with an open air dining room/bar and a deck style dining area on the tips of the dunes. The restaurant is simple in decor with wood accents that did give off that Key west feeling. We loved the casual and relaxing atmosphere with the sound of the waves crashing in the background. Our first visit, we arrived early and had a seat at the bar to enjoy some drinks before dinner started at 6pm. We notified the hostess that we didn't have reservations but she assured us we'd have a table for six. After our drinks the hostess came and...

Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville: Always a Fun Time in Grand Turk

by cjg1

Margaritaville is the only food option available in Grand Turk without a trip into town. Liz and I stop here on every visit to Grand Turk. We are usually arriving via a cruise ship and are craving some nachos. Margaritaville is a pretty big place (two levels) with a large open patio style dining room. The dining area was large with high ceilings and fans. Plenty of tv's line the walls with sporting events, Jimmy Buffet concert footage and Jimmy Buffet themed memorabilia. There is a bar right outside by the pool with a swim up area, cabanas, flow rider and gift shop. The bar has "land" seats as well as pool seating for those not willing to get out of the pool for a drink. The decor was a bit cheesey with Jimmy Buffet lyrics painted all over the walls and TV's showing drunken customers from Margaritaville's from other locations...but if your are a Jimmy Buffet fan you'll totally like this...

The Barefoot Cafe: Nice setting for breakfast, lunch and dinner

by pugwashman

The Barefoot Cafe is situated in a cool courtyard, and opens for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Every meal we had there was excellent, and ranged from burgers, to jerk chicken, pizzas, pork chops, conch, pasta. It all tasted very fresh and the service was very good and friendly. Drinks were quite cheap, and each day they have a "theme" in the evening, such as pasta night or conch night. They also have a happy hour from 15:00 to 18:00 when most drinks and pizza is half price. I'd definitely recommend it. Jerk chicken skewers with Rice & Peas ... mmm

Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville: A so-so experience made better with margaritas!

by emily031

The ambience is kind of fun--party atmosphere with whatever ships are in port that day. Friendly staff, beautiful surroundings. Food was mediocre, just ok--the drinks about the same. Landshark beer, margaritas and pina coladas are standards. They hold a dancing contest with a DJ poolside, and the entire stretch of beachfront by the port is part of Margaritaville. They have chairs and towels for rent, and for families or those who don't have much time it may be a good way to spend a few hours. However, the beach is crowded and if you don't like loud reggae and top 40 remixes, it's not the place for you. The nachos were pretty good, totally loaded with artery-clogging, tastebud-pleasing condiments. The salads were mediocre, the wings were decent.

Bacci Restaurante: Turtle Cove Restaurante

by islandjim

The Bacci is a finner eating establishment and offers some excellent food served on the decks along Turtle Cove Marina. You may sit and watch the boats going and coming. The atmosphere is very nice, clean, and nicely decorated. They offer a resonable wine list and the food is very good. Pricing is middle of the road for places in Provo. The owner of this establisment is a high energy gentleman that will see that you are properly taken care of. He often will seat you himself and introduce you to your server. From local seafood to fine veal dishes, this place is on the not to miss list while in Provo. I have had the Red snapper and a special veal dish at the Bacci. The fish was very good and served with long string beans and was very tatee. The veal was cooked in a brown sauce that was a little spicy and served with mashed type of potatoes. Very Good!We would always start with a mixed...

Danny Buoy's: An Irish Pub

by kucha

This is a fair choice for a break from seafood, but -- in my opinion -- not up to it's billing. Perhaps those who claim to love it just need a break from delicious locally-prepared meals .... The decor is a classic Irish pub and it was O.K., but not great. I hear the burger is "great" but can't say for sure. I got the Irish Stew, which was recommended, but definitely not that good. The biggest disappointment, however, was that the beer was served in bottles and only lukewarm due to a lack of "real pub glasses" (at a pub?!?!) and a broken tap line. Hmmm.

Aqua Restaurant: Fresh Seafood and Good Prices

by kucha

Locals seem to agree that this is a very good seafood restaurant near the Turtle Cove Marina. The bar is full of locals having drinks after a day of "work" and the tables fill up by 8:00. Get there early and pick a table overlooking the docks for more ambiance. Pecan-crusted conch is terrific, as are the conch fritters.

Hemmingways: Don't Miss the Conch Fingers

by kucha

This is a lovely restaruant located in the Sands hotel. YOu will eat on a deck overlooking the ocean and be pleasantly surprised by the variety of locally-prepared seafood dishes. Go, like I did, on Tuesday night to enjoy "Caribbean Night" complete with traditional dishes and live music. Thursday also has live music, although fewer "local" options on the menu. The Creole grouper was very good, but the highlight was the appetizer of conch fingers (not fritters) that were light, delicate and scrumptious!

Bugaloos: Fresh or what? Order, they go fish it out!

by ClareBear

Order a beer and sit back in Bugaloos and look out at the sea and the beach and just relax. The waitress will then, after about ten minutes (hey they are on island time, which is were you should be) will bring you over a menu that has about ten different varieties of conch (pronounced conck). She then put your order in and the guy goes out and fishes out your conch straight from the sea - chops it up and hey presto - you cant get fresher than that! Personally I dont do fish and sea food but it would have been rude not too!

Bar 21 North: Worth a visit

by pugwashman

This restaurant is located on the upper level of the Ports of Call shopping Plaza. They are renowned for their pizzas, but serve a variety of dishes including some nice local dishes including lovely jerk chicken wings. Jerk chicken wings and fillet of Mahi Mahi
