by BluecatCanoe When I stayed I found a place that had a bar be que every Sunday right on a coconut palm lined beach, 'Kathy's Fancy". I wonder if they still do that now? It was great, swim and eat, rest under a palm tree, very nice.
There are many as I returned yearly for a long time. I guess watching the Rashtamen cutting coconuts from the tall palm trees at Pelican Cove and then opening them for my children was a thing to remember. Leave a Comment

New Years at Foxies BVI. The nice thing about living in the VI is the boat trips to other Islands: Sandy Key, Norman Island, Jost Van Dyke, Virgin Gorda... You can walk around the entire Island of Sandy Key in Five minutes, Jump Naked of the "Willy T" and recieve a free tee shirt, Go visit with Foxie on Jost Van Dyke at New Years for the wildest party in the world then calm your head with a painkiller from the Soggy Dollar but your gunna have to swim for it, or to just relax in the baths on Virgin Gorda and what ever you do -- do not forget your mask & snorkle. If you do make it to St Thomas the one trip that you must take is the Eco-tour guided Kayak trip through the only remaining VI mangrove lagoon.
Most of the People are brutily Honest and freindly and they look out for each other your never homeless or with out food or drink in the Islands Unless your a psycotic crackhead freek who speaks in tungs to the lamp post, strips off all your clothes and takes a stroll down the water front. Then no one will want to go near you!! Back to the question of --- My fondest memories in St Thomas have to be: 1. the photo shoot at sunrise on Saphire Beach with my best freind Brooks 2. The drum circles and camping trips to Neltyberg and Stumpy 3. The shooting star that fell from the sky out of the big dipper as My freind Amber and I stood ankle deep in the waves at Hull Bay saying goodbye to our Freind Chris Adams. Leave a Comment

by bottleofdoom Dancing on the ship was fun while it was rocking back & forth. Fortunately, all the old people were on a different part of the ship that night, so we got to take over the Nightclub. The DJ played all my cd's I brought down from my cabin. We got to dance to Iggy Pop while the ship swayed back and forth!! The waiters brought us Greyhounds and I danced all night!!!! Leave a Comment

by bottleofdoom Trunk Bay is a gorgeous expanse of white sand beach that you usually have to get to by a bus tour. There is an underwater snorkel trail that you can follow that's kind of like a hiking trail with markers and explanations. I think it's one of the largest in the carribean. Leave a Comment

by lucretia319 In St. John, rent a car and snorkel gear for a day, drive to the the most beautiful beaches you'll ever see and frolic in the crystal blue waters of Cinnamon Bay, Trunk Bay, and Waterlemon Cay.
I really enjoyed snorkeling in the waters of Cinnamon Bay. The water was very warm and serene and had excellent visibility. Can you see the turtle in this photo?! Leave a Comment

by bottleofdoom The sunsets at sea are spectacular. Photos really cannot capture the feeling you get when you witness the sun going down firsthand while on the stern or bow of a ship. Leave a Comment

by lucretia319 Day sailing trip with Captain Neil Newhard of the 'Hirondelle.' He told the best stories. My b-friend, Chuck, and another sailor, Eileen, are enjoying the relaxing ride toward Jost Van Dyke of the British Virgin Islands. Leave a Comment

Look at my nickname...dreamworld........well those islands are MY DREAMWORLD !!! It's paradise, it's over everything I could imagine...it's the best place I've ever been, talking about pure nature beauty. Well apart water sports or shopping, there's not much to do or to visit...but don't go to Virgin Islands for that. This place is made to relax and cool down from the polluted and 'civilized' areas where you may come from.
St.Thomas (US) : it's definitively not the best island, it's crowded with the capital Charlotte Amalie and full of traffic. It's the most populated of the island. But this is where you can get the cheaper flights to land. Despite the crowd...you can still get some peace on the north coast, especially Magens Bay with is for me the beast beach on this island. It's very safe for children by the way. St.John's (US) : If you love nature...go straight to this place !!!!!!! St John's is reachable only by boat. The best and cheapest way being to catch the ferry at the eastern end of St Thomas, in a village called Red Hook. The crossing is safe and quick (30 minutes). You arrive at the only 'so called' village in St Johns which is Cruz Bay. 2/3 of this island is a National Park !!! Therefore wildlife watching (including 'funny' mongooses) is great. You can find remote beaches and bay, sometimes only accesible by boat or after a long walk through the bush. Of best places, I will recommend Round Bay which is like heaven, and Trunk + Cinammon Bay which are more accessible. Tortola (British) : This is the main of the British Islands, great to explore despite serious lack of public transportation. This island is definitively not for 'poor' tourists. Everything over there is expensive....but it's worth to go once in your life...and this is where I found the BEST BEACH I EVER SAW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm talking about later in this page. Virgin Gorda (British), reachable by boat from Tortola (1 1/2 hours crossing more or less) is not so touristic and not so pretty (less hilly). But on Virgin Gorda, there is a MUST SEE, a place called The Baths which is a pure delight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There are small beaches between rocks, with crystal clear water and plenty of fish to see !!!!!!!!!!! The Baths could be crowded in high season since most of the cruises stop close from this place and packs of tourists are showing up. Leave a Comment

by Daivute Go to St. Thomas island and see the most beautiful beach in the world-Magens Bay. The best view you can get is on the mountaintop, which claims to be the spot where banana daiquiris were created. There you can enjoy the unbelievable, spectacular view of Magens Bay 1,500 feet below, that you can't see anywhere else.
I loved Virgin Islands a lot. And got to spend some time there. I just love the feeling that I get when I'm there, very relaxing feeling. It just feels like I died and went to heaven. Leave a Comment
