    There are sufficient gas stations on the island so that you don't have to worry about running out of gas and not being able to find a gas station. Most of them are self service. Last time we were there the gas prices at all the stations was exactly the same $4.19/gallon. So we could get gas at the station we preferred, up by Christiansted, or down...

  • Cruzan Rum

    Cruzan Rum is the locally produced rum of St. Croix. The rum distillery was founded in 1760 and is avaialble for tour. Cruzan Rum has a variety of blends, flavors and age categoried depending on your personal tastes. While we were in St. Croix we picked up some bottles for friends back home in Mango and Guava flavors.

  • Good Morning, Afternoon, and Night

    Here and throughout much of the Caribbean, greeting people with Hi! is considered kind of rude. It will peg you as an uninformed tourist in a second. Instead greet with Good Morning (until noon), Good Afternoon (until about sunset), and Good Night (after dark). It may sound a little awkward at first, but it does make a difference.
