Good Morning, Afternoon, and Night

by jenval

Here and throughout much of the Caribbean, greeting people with Hi! is considered kind of rude. It will peg you as an uninformed tourist in a second. Instead greet with Good Morning (until noon), Good Afternoon (until about sunset), and Good Night (after dark). It may sound a little awkward at first, but it does make a difference.

Locals will Greet Strangers

by Kristini

I noticed just walking down the main street in Christiansted shopping, local people will say Good Morning to strangers! It's nice to which them back as well!
