Christiansted is a duty-free town, and one of the most rewarding and affordable things to buy is the local Cruzan Rum, especially the flavored ones. There a couple of dollars for each bottle, and you are allowed to bring 6 bottles per person back to the US.
Plenty of cheesy gift shops near the harbor in Christiansted, this one claims to be the best.
