There are a couple of other ways to get to St. John other than by the normal public ferry.

St. John has no airport, so - since it is an island - the only way to get there is by boat. The easiest way to do this is to take the ferry from either Charlotte Amalie or Red Hook to Cruz Bay.

Fly to St. Thomas and you can take a ferry to Cruz Bay (or Caneel Bay) from Charlotte Amalie (or Red Hook).
Rent a Jeep or get a taxi. I highly recommend getting on a boat to explore the island as well as the other nearby islands. Leave a Comment Theme: Other

This is an underwater snorkeling trail with placards describing plants, fish, etc. Its not the best snorkeling on the island, but an underwater trail is really cool!! There are no facilities except for a port-a-potty or two and a few picnic tables in the wooded area between the parking lot and the beach so don't expect much along those lines. However, this is part of what keeps the beach itself so secluded and pristine. I could have set up camp and lived there forever. Leave a Comment
