Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Aqua shoes were nice to have on the kayak trip as we needed them to get to the snorkeling spot

Swim wear for the beach, a hat to protect you from the sun and a towel for when you get into the taxi to keep the seat dry

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: Sunscreen is essential, the couple of spots I missed were as red as Rudolph's nose!

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: If you are planning on snorkeling from the beach, bring your own mask and fin unless you don't mind using a rental

Miscellaneous: We brought a bottle of water and some muffins from the ship, you shouldn't bring fruit from the ship to the island because of possible bugs and disease

Packing for a Sailboat Charter

Bob at the wheel -hat and sunglasses with skipper.

Luggage and bags: SOFT bags - no hard side luggage - not even a bag with a frame. They are too hard to stow in the limited space aboard a boat.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: HAT. Deck shoes (flat, with good wet grip capabilities and white non-marking soles) Several swimsuits because you don't want to sit around in the wet suit - you will get a rash. Cover-up for swim suit. Raingear. Knit shirts or T-shirts. Shorts or khaki pants. Sundresses.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: SUNSCREEN. Bug stuff. Any medications that you need. Normal shampoo, deod. soap, and toothbrushing stuff that you normally use. Extra prescription glasses.

Forget makeup and hair dryers.

Photo Equipment: At the time I didn't have a digital camera. I took two regular film cameras, and a dive camera, but snorkeling cameras are also useful. Plenty of film - it will be bright on the water so take appropriate speed film for your camera. Camera batteries. Also I brought mailers so I could mail the film home to be developed from St. Thomas and it wouldn't have to go through the airport screening again.

Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: Sunglasses. . Diving gear if you have your own - I brought dive skins, a dive light, a mask with diapters (because I wear bifocals), my PADI card, and dive record book. A small flashlight. A sweater and sweatshirt for cool evenings.

Miscellaneous: Material for a written log. Passport (useful checking in to the BVI, and now required for checking back into the US). Hand mirror, calculator, addresses and stamps for writing home.

Mosquito Repellent or Suffer!

Luggage and bags: Really!! Mosquitos are out even during the day, so my first day I got so many mosquitos bites that it was not funny at all!!! They eat you alive there!!! Anywhere and anytime you need the Mosquito Repellent!!

Also, I guess there is no need to say: Bring sunblock!!! The sun there is a killer!! It hurts!!

Miscellaneous: I would suggest you to bring your own Snorkel equipment. Some beaches don't have a rental place nearby.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: With having lived in the Caribbean and always wearing pants and a light sweater at night, I was surprised when I could go out at night in a skirt and top and be comfortable.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: You've got K-Mart, it's okay if you forgot something.
