Over looking Charlotte Amalie by travelqueen7 At least once you have to walk through the city streets. The streets are line with shops dedicated to the tourist and restaurants. Prices on some things are amazingly cheap, if you need electronics or jewelrey @ duty free this city is the place to buy. Leave a Comment

Megan's Bay and St. John's by travelqueen7 If you take an organized tour you will more than likely end up here, but if not it's worth the drive to see the view. Looking out over the mountain top you can see Megan's Bay, Tortola, St. John's and a few other of the Virgin Islands. Also be sure to try a Banana Daquari Leave a Comment

by travelqueen7 They say the best time to take a ride on the cable car is at sunset, but I found it's usually closed by then. If it was open they are right, sunset is a great time to enjoy the view. Go up have a drink, at this location they are famous for their Bushwackers... and just relax. If you have a car and missed the cable car hours, which are usually only when the ships are in port between 8-5, you can always take the long road up. That's what we had to do. Leave a Comment

Drake's Seat is a viewpoint where an actual stone bench sits. Legend has it that Sir Frances Drake used the spot as a lookout for Spanish ships approaching St. Thomas. It provides amazing views of Magens Bay. Directions: Along route 35 at the junction of Skyline Drive (route 40)

St. Thomas Trolley by fitbod The St. Thomas Scenic Island Tour was well worth the time it took out of my day! Jane was the tour guide, a relocated NY Yankee of three years, she LOVED the island. It had been her dream to retire as a school teacher and live on this "touristy" island. She knew as much about St. Thomas as I could imagine any native knowing. She was very entertaining and accomadating. There were several senior citizens on the tour, including my mother. Jane knew how to "cater" to their every needs. I learned so much that day...just don't ask me now...my long term memory has never been my strong suit! :) Leave a Comment Address: St. Thomas

There are bird shows at the top of Paradise Point. We arrived at the very end of the show, so we didn't get to see/hear much about the birds. We did manage to get a few pictures. I think the intent is for you to pay to get your picture taken with the birds, and we didn't do that.

It is definitely worth it to walk around Charlotte Amalie (pronounced Ah mal yuh), the capital. You can see it from the car, but it's much better to experience the sounds, smells, and locals on foot. At first glance, it looks crowded and a bit run down. However, once you get a closer look, you see the pretty streets, duty-free shops, and lovely buildings.

Cruz Bay St. John by sargentjeff We immediately grabbed a taxi to Red Hook when a debarked the ship in St. Thomas. Red Hook is on the eastern side of the island, and the ferry runs every hour from 0630 to midnight, and it costs $3 per person each way to go to St. John. The trip lasts about 20 minutes, and it's nice to relax and enjoy the sights when the weather is nice. Leave a Comment

Lindbergh Beach isn't as well known as some of the other beaches on St. Thomas, but it is still worth a visit. The water is calm with a sandy bottom, so it's great for swimming or just relaxing in the water. Directions: Adjacent to the airport

The only way up or down! by Ericasmurf99 We rode the skytram up 700 ft to "Paradise Point", a great place to take some awesome photos, have a Baily's Bushwacker, and play with Parrots. There are 6 of these skyrides, 3 are available at a time, and they rotate every 7 minutes. Feels like forever though when your part of the line is in the sun! Address: Havensight AreaDirections: Across from the cruise ship terminal, in the Havensight shopping area. Big flashy signs everywhere, can't miss it.Website: http://paradisepointtramway.com/
