Indoor Market by the Zogu i Zi

it's on the unaza (ring road) down by the Zogu i Zi do not go into the cover maket area. We went in there we was told the best deals for buying things were in there. It was way too dangerous for tourist to go in there we had our translator once with us and went another time alone just asking for trouble going into this area. We were harassed when we asked the price of something and then not purchased it and also for touching things and not buying them because we touched it ( we asked later about this to friends and it is custom if you touch you bought it) lesson learned stay out of the covered market area, this was not the food and produce market area) it is on the ring road down from the hospital area. Buy from the vendors on the streets they were a pleasure to do business with, never once was we overcharged!

Shopping for Food

We lived on a small amount of food, bread water pop rice milk cereal bananas were wonderful and chocolate wonderful german chocolates there, the fruit and vegatables didn't sit well in our stomachs at all, the oranges were great but didn't sit well grumbled around down there, not good! We also found great doughnuts and other treats in stores there, popcorn we popped at our little place on the stove was our evening treat most nights. It was cheaper for us to eat fast food than cook at home. We used the Krystal brand water others upset our stomachs I think some are just water out of the tap. We didn't buy any milk or yoguart off the street vendors too risky to eat. We ate on about 600 lekes a day for both of us

this is a little souvenir shop in the Tirana airport you can only get in this part of the airport when you are waiting to leave on the plane going out of the country. The prices were about 10% higher than in Tirana, but I found a few things that other stores didn't have but for the most part the same things you seen in other souviner shops. They took euro's, dollars and lekes, how refreshing!
