when i first saw it i flinched and though:
aaargh, the arches of evil have arrived in albania.
then i just realised that it was an albanian copy.
quite funny i think.
they really try to make it look like a real mc donalds, so the food probaply makes you fat there just like at the original place.

some of the fast food places in albania just have so funny names that you gotta eat there no matter what it tastes like.

One of the most surprising things I found when visting Albania was the emergence of an embyonic cafe society.
Due to the interchange of people (and TV) with Italy, the Italian influence on the decor and menus is profound.
One still has to check on prices before drinking/eating, but we generally found owners to be honest - mainly because they seemed so unused to non-Albanian frequenting their establishments !
I also notice that many cafes used plastic purple garden chairs. I suspect that some enterprising individual bought up a massive job lot of them a few years back and made a nice fat profit selling them on.

After walking the touristic area up and down I found this cute local restaurant, one of the few that wasn't turned into a cafeteria or pizzeria. It had a nice terrace with palm trees and the food was quite home made and cheap.
I had a vegetable soup and a fresh grilled fish, quite tasty, though not very ellaborated.

This is one of my favorite places that we ate in Tirana. Lovely fresh and traditional dishes. You can either sit inside or sit in the little candle lit court yard at the front. Lots of locals seem to eat here and it was busy every time we visited.

This is quite a posh place to have something to eat or just sit in the garden and have a drink. There is a childrens play area in the gardens. Set back from the madness of the city centre in a nice quiet setting.
Pizza, also has traditional food.

Up above the town of Saranda you have great views of the coast and also of Corfu. This is a really well done restaurant and bar with lots of different areas and different outside bars. In the evening there was live music being played, it was just starting to get busy when we were there about 7.30/8.
We only drunk here again but had a look at the menu and have quite a choice. If the food is as good as the place looks im sure its great! This is a coffee place and bar. In the evenings in the summer it will be packed with the locals, mainly youngsters having a coffee or a beer with friends. You can sit on the roof of the castle and watch everyone going for their evening walk down the main street.

Located just about a two minute walk down the road from theButrint Ruins its a nice place to sit and have a drink or lunch after all that walking! With two area's outside one for if your having a meal on one side of the gardens and the other just for drinks on the other side of the garden its nice and shady. Although watch for wasps! Looks like a recently built place with a very nice feel.

It's a copy of McDonalds really. Burgers and chips, pizza and ice creams. Seemed quite busy with young locals and adults with children. Dont think i would be visiting again! You can get local fast food cheaper and alot nicer!
