Butrint Restaurant (Sarande)
After walking the touristic area up and down I found this cute local restaurant, one of the few that wasn't turned into a cafeteria or pizzeria. It had a nice terrace with palm trees and the food was quite home made and cheap.
Favorite Dish: I had a vegetable soup and a fresh grilled fish, quite tasty, though not very ellaborated.
Tirana beer and coffee to drink.
I payed 5 euros for the whole lunch.Related to:

no mc donalds in albania yet.
when i first saw it i flinched and though:
aaargh, the arches of evil have arrived in albania.
then i just realised that it was an albanian copy.
quite funny i think.
they really try to make it look like a real mc donalds, so the food probaply makes you fat there just like at the original place.
better go and eat elsewhere.Related to:

various: Italian style cafe society
One of the most surprising things I found when visting Albania was the emergence of an embyonic cafe society.
Due to the interchange of people (and TV) with Italy, the Italian influence on the decor and menus is profound.
One still has to check on prices before drinking/eating, but we generally found owners to be honest - mainly because they seemed so unused to non-Albanian frequenting their establishments !
I also notice that many cafes used plastic purple garden chairs. I suspect that some enterprising individual bought up a massive job lot of them a few years back and made a nice fat profit selling them on.
Favorite Dish: Beer..coffee..more beer etc
(avoiding Absinthe, I'm mad enough already by being here!)
Emblema restaurant: Don't miss the lovely goat!
This is one of my favorite places that we ate in Tirana. Lovely fresh and traditional dishes. You can either sit inside or sit in the little candle lit court yard at the front. Lots of locals seem to eat here and it was busy every time we visited.
Favorite Dish: The fresh meat and salads.
Juvenilja: Great food
This is quite a posh place to have something to eat or just sit in the garden and have a drink. There is a childrens play area in the gardens. Set back from the madness of the city centre in a nice quiet setting.
Favorite Dish: Pizza, also has traditional food.
Here three of us ate: three pizza's, one soft drink and two beers for 3000 Lek (£15 sterling OR $30 USD)
Likursi Castle: Amazing views of coast line
Up above the town of Saranda you have great views of the coast and also of Corfu. This is a really well done restaurant and bar with lots of different areas and different outside bars. In the evening there was live music being played, it was just starting to get busy when we were there about 7.30/8.
Favorite Dish: We only drunk here again but had a look at the menu and have quite a choice. If the food is as good as the place looks im sure its great!
Castle Tepelene: Old castle in Tepelene
This is a coffee place and bar. In the evenings in the summer it will be packed with the locals, mainly youngsters having a coffee or a beer with friends. You can sit on the roof of the castle and watch everyone going for their evening walk down the main street.
Favorite Dish: coffee, beer or the local water (uji) Tepelene. i also liked ivi limon
Hotel- bar- restorant LIVIA: Butrint
Located just about a two minute walk down the road from theButrint Ruins its a nice place to sit and have a drink or lunch after all that walking! With two area's outside one for if your having a meal on one side of the gardens and the other just for drinks on the other side of the garden its nice and shady. Although watch for wasps! Looks like a recently built place with a very nice feel.
Favorite Dish: All local food and drinks.
Kolonat: Average fast food
It's a copy of McDonalds really. Burgers and chips, pizza and ice creams. Seemed quite busy with young locals and adults with children. Dont think i would be visiting again! You can get local fast food cheaper and alot nicer!
Favorite Dish: Pizza was better than the burgers.
Italian Restaurant, Saranda: Real pizza
Set on the main promenade in Saranda with a lovely large roof terrace overlooking the sea. We went here twice each night there was live music playing and people getting up and dancing. It was very busy with all the albanians on holiday here. It has a nice outdoor pizza oven making proper pizza's. You can also order take any food from here.
Favorite Dish: very large pizza's!
Restaurant at Syri i Kalter: Lovely cool setting
Syri i Kalter is inland from Saranda. In english it means blue eye, you have to pay to visit as it is a local attraction but i think it is worth a visit. The restaurant is set in the grounds surrounded by a fast flowing VERY cold river, set under trees it is lovely to sit here on a boiling hot day. We only had a drink here but the food that we saw people looked good and fresh.
Favorite Dish: Looked like fresh meat and salads here. Also ice creams, beers and soft drinks.
Pitet e Engjejve: The BEST place in Tirana.
Although it looks like nothing special, just a normal restaurant with eating areas in and outdoors this place is the best. You can eat here cheaply and have the best food. All kinds of grilled meats and salads to gyros. Everything you could want and plenty of it in big plate fulls. The menu is also in english. They do take away too.
Favorite Dish: Mixed grill (you need at least 3 people to be able to finish it.
I dont remember :-): Who knows what is named this restaurant ?
Please help me and explain what is the name of this restaurant and state please its location in Tirana.
Favorite Dish: Favorite Dish: I remember we ate beef with rostaed potatoes and salad with a glas of typical Albanian fresh wine with light bubbles. Fruits as a desert.
Bar by the lake: Nice place for an evening drink and walk
Set on the side of the lake in Tirana its a nice place for a relaxing drink. With park land all around you can go for a nice walk like everyone else seems to do in their best clothes in the evening.
Favorite Dish: beers and coffee
Piazza bar-restorant-pizzeri: Himarë seaside
We ate here one lunch time as we were driving through Himarë. It was a nice little place, you could sit inside or just across the little road at there outdoor setting looking over the beach. We all had pasta here as the said they only do pizza in the evenings not day time. They also do some greek food.
Favorite Dish: pasta
