During the summer 1999 I worked in Albania and some weeks here in this border town Kukes.
This was the towns best fish restaurant.
Favorite Dish: In this restaurant wasn´t menu, but only this:
# fried fresh fish from the river
# salat
# bread
# oil& vinegard
Drinks
# beer and wine

Address: Kukes Albania
If you use official roads I suppose that off road vehicle is enough.
In the mountain small paths or what ever "roads", this pics animal should be the most useful.
When we saw this lovely boy to come against us on the road paths, we really understood that our vehicle have to turn back and so we did.

Albanian road transport is not well organized. The destinations of minibuses are not marked so you have to ask where each one is going.
You can go direct to Prizren in Kosovo, or to Tirana in about 7 hours.
It looks like a short distance, but the spectacular mountain road winds and turns up and down, so progress is slow. Not just slow, but dangerous. There are almost no guard rails along the hairpin curves, so if you go off the road, you are dead. I counted over 40 grave markers of people who died by going off the cliffs. This must be the most dangerous road in the world.
I wanted to go to Peshkovi from Kukes, but there were no taxis going that way, so I went to Rreshen instead. A wise decision, as I loved Rreshen (there is a hotel for 10 Euros), an it broke the fearsome journey to Tirana. I recommend the trip to Rreshen.
