?It is not always easy to identify accurately photos after 18 years! I feel that the three photos on this tip were taken on the northern entrance into Lezhë, on the road from Shkodër.
The first photo shows a hamlet made of a few houses, climbing on the slopes of the hill and in the background, on the right, a fortress that should be Lezhë fort
The second photo is a close up on the hamlet. On the road, a cart driven by a donkey.
The third photo, taken just a little further shows on top of a hill a few secluded houses. Our guide told us that this was the residence of important leaders.
The fourth photo shows two donkeys carrying their load and a boy watching at us.

The fortress of Lezhë is a part of a chain of fortresses used by Skënderbeg to communicate fast at long distance. From the fortress of Lezhë, a beacon lit on Rozafa castle in Shkodër,45 km as the crow flies, can easily be seen. Then a beacon lit on Lezhë fortress can be seen from Krujë castle ((54 km). Further south, other citadels such as Petrela could receive the signal and transmit it.
