One of the few attractive parts of town is this long promenade along the beach where you can have a walk and sit in some of the many cafes and pizzerias to have a snack. Don't expect luxury yachts here, but there is a nice calm atmosphere and is a nice place to spend the afternoon watching the people go by...
This was the excursion our Albanian guide was desperate for us to see. An hour inland, we arrived at two huge gates, the entrance to a monastry. As we entered and walked to the gardens of the monastry we saw what was left of a roman village. All the time we were followed by an army of small boys wanting to practice their English on us!
The castle is on a hill overlooking the roman ruins and was also part of our guided tour. Once you get to the top of the hill in the grounds, superb views can be seen.
Once we arrived by ferry we were met at by a guide and taken by coach along the coastline. The promenade was very scenic and this is where we met most of the locals.
Bathing in the gorgeous beaches that sorround the town, like the one in this photo.
Beautiful beaches, clean water and most important no crowds.
