These photos were taken in 1988 in Shkodėr on the main road. I have not been able in 2005 to find exactly the same place. I should have taken paper prints with me. All buildings were either new or under construction.
You will notice that there is not a single car, as they were forbidden to private citizens. However, on the fourth photo, there is a road sign that forbids the access to town to horse drawn carts. This is the same road sign that was in 2005 affixed to the bridge on the Buna river.
On the fifth photo, another road sign (they were not so many !) shows the direction of Shkod?r (city center) with no kilometers and of Tiran?, 110 km. Leave a Comment

Rozafa fortress was rebuilt some centuries by venetians and turkish that ruled this area in several periods
My experience is short in time in that place.. i just saw that should be nice to go up as i did in Kotor this same afternoon and behold such brautiful landscapes !! i just pass by for an hour by there Leave a Comment

The way to move to the montenegro border is take a cab.. in this place and try to manage the best price to get there .. baragin is the way.. i dont remember how much it cost actually
in front of this bus station there was a coffe bar so clean and quite nice to stop for a while before the hard task to get a taxi ...
i pass by the bus along the city and i didnt see nothing exceptional worth to see it... maybe the rivers that cross the city Leave a Comment

I am not going to take a photo of every bank in Shkodėr, but it is important to know that in 2005, there is no problem to find a bank and no problem to find an ATM. We did not stay long enough in Albania to find where Credit cards could be used for payments. Leave a Comment

In Shkodėr, banks are sprouting at every street crossing.
You can see on this photo that it is for real : look at the big panel on the right. It says that the Pro-Credit bank accepts all kind of credit cards. You can recognize for example Visa and Master Card.

On the 2005 photos, taken in the same district, south to the city, there are a few cars, though not many.
On the first photo, the street is a dual carriage way and the housings look in relatively good condition.
On the second photo, the front of the building shows various aspects. Some parts have been newly painted, some have not yet been.
The third photo, though shot close by, shows a building in bad condition that would require a lot of repairs. Leave a Comment
