Miscellaneous: If you check different guidebooks about Albania, you will soon notice that they all more or less describe the same sights and list the same hotels.
So I was more than happy to download the free of charge "In Your Pocket - Shkodra" guide from the In Your Pocket website.
Although it was already almost 4 years old, it was still a great resource for all kind of information about the city.

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Although it is very hot it is essential to bring some kind of walking shoes if you are visiting the mountains. Confortable summer shoes, sandals or trainers are also good for visits to the castle, bridge and for walking in town.
Toiletries and Medical Supplies: There are plenty of well stocked pharmacies in town however any kind of mosquito deterant medicines will be to your benefit.
Photo Equipment: Rely on your own preferences when it comes to photo equipment.
Camping/Beach/Outdoor Gear: The summer from mid may to mid september is very hot (above 30 degrees celcius) therefore light summer clothing is a must. Don't forget to bring hats, caps or other protection from the sun if you are undertaking a lot of outdoor activities. High factor sun lotions and creams can be bought at the local beauty stores, but if you prefer your own please help yourselves.
Miscellaneous: All toiletries and similar products are available from local shops. They are mostly imported from Italy and Greece.
