by Vlora_Ilir

hi there! There are no golf courses in albania.I'm sorry. I don't even think there are plans to open one.I don't know why to be honest. It may be that the Albanian's don't have a clue about golf. It's only football over there.Hope this help you.

Osumi river kayaking

by albaniaexplorer

Kayaking on Osumi river in southern Albania region near Berat city, is a great adventure and joey. About 17 km length of river in th Kanion of Osum makes this event an unforgettable moment of your life. At the same time, Berat is a more than 2400 years old city and is under UNESCO protection. You can see the old castle and enjoy the local outstanding delicious food. All equipments are available and can be arrange by Albania Explorer.

Trekking

by JLBG

As mountains cover more than 70% of the country, Albania is a potential heaven for trekkers. However, it seems that there is hardly anything organized (though things change so fast in Albania that it may not be true anymore). Do not expect any signs along the tracks! Do not expect neither any detailed maps! !). Thus, trekking might be a kind of adventure in the wilderness! A local guide can be a help but to be local does not mean that he knows the routes! We have not trekked in Albania but from what I have read, there are several areas available. I will mention two, but there are also other places. ..Theth is a small town in the middle of the Albanian Alps, about 60 km north-east to Shkodra. It is in the middle of the Teth National park and seems to be a perfect hub for small or long treks. The travel writer Edith Durham wrote extensively about that area. Caution, you might encounter...

Country gymnasium

by JLBG

Mesim, pune, kalitjeThis photo was taken in 1988 in the country. It shows a gymnasium with written on the front : Mesim, punë, kalitje (learning, working, endurance, if I am correct). Haha, "kalitje" is not "quality" as I would have guessed without the dictionary but "endurance".

by cachaseiro

albania has several good places for canyoning.i went to a small canoyn just outside tirana with albanian my freinds one day and spend the day hiking through a canoyn.partly hiking, partly climbing and partly wading in the river.totally great experience.again i would recommend the guys from outdoor albania if you need someone to help you organising it.they know the area very well and are very professional.

cycling albania.

by cachaseiro

i came to albania from denmark by bicycle and spend lots of time cycling around the country.it is perfect as long as you have good tires.the roads can sometimes be a little bad.most roads are not very traffficed though and it is an iedal destination for an adventurous cyclist.i also met some very cool albanian guys who have an adventure travel company.if you want someone to organise a biketrip around albania for you, they are certainly the guys to contact.
