Receiving Mail - A Piece of Advice

Favorite thing: Everybody (well, almost!) likes receiving letters - I certainly do, though there are other, more modern and efficient means of communication - e-mail, phone, and such like. However, if you simply like getting letters or if you need, say, the originals or paper copies of some documents sent to you while you are on the move, you can use the poste restante service. Your best bet is to use the American Express service, which is available for free to clients - you should hold either their card or travellers cheques. They are reliable and present in all major cities.

Favorite thing: Tourist info office in Plaza Coprinceps – it is a pedestrian square. They were very helpful and patiently explained to me about the way the town was split between Andorra la Vella and Escaldes-Engordany, cos I got very confused with all the conflicting signs.

Fondest memory: Teaching Irish to the lovely manageress of the Connect@t cyber cafe (through french!). I used to go in daily to keep my friends & family uptodate with my friend's progress and I got talking to the staff about A-la-V and what I was doing there. The night before I left, she treated me to coffee and some extra 'net time so I could check flight details and stuff. Small cafe but extremly friendly - so go there ! :) Avinguda del Fener, 22 on the Escaldes side of town.

Favorite thing: Ski ski ski.(only during in winter, of course) Plenty of Spanish skiers who cannot be bothered going to Switzerland go here instead.

Fondest memory: Although I was there during spring, there was still snow on the fields. Walking on the snowfields is something I don't get much to experience. The snowcapped mountains are fantastic.

Favorite thing: Can't go to Andorra in winter and not ski. If you can, try snowboarding - it is MUCH more difficult than it seems but worth the laughs.

Fondest memory: The two-storey buildings made of stone, black slate and wood are incredibly charming... especially when they blend into the snowed slopes of a mountain and pines trees around them..
I loved trying to spot the towns from afar...

Favorite thing: As I said you before I like Andorra to go to practise my favourite sport: snowboarding!
It's true that in Catalan Pyrenees there are a lot of resorts to practise this sport, but I consider Soldeu-El Tarter as one of the bests resorts because you can go from this resort to Pas de la Casa-Grau Roig. But snowboarding is not the only sport that you can practise there... if you like nature and adventure sports don't forget to practise: climbing, rafting (in spring), hidro-speed, hiking....
Andorra is also known both for duty-free goods and some quality skiing (Soldeu being the largest resort)
The official language in Andorra is Catalan, but many Andorrans also speak Spanish and/or French.

Favorite thing: Drive to France. This was a shot looking back on the road to Foix France over the Pyranees. This was a stage in the 2000 Tour de France. I had a hard time driving up it LOL!

Fondest memory: Getting to the top of this pass and feeling as if you could view the whole of Europe and the Iberian Penninsula with one turn of the head. It is trully an enchanting country.
