Vesuvio: Massana Pizzeria

by gilescorey

I was attracted to Vesuvio because it has an "Italian American" vibe, with paper placemats, a breeze spinning sign and a bumbling family behind the counter. They're French, in fact. But, the pizza is pretty damn good and they go out of their way to make you happy. And, might I add: not many places to eat in Massana, period. Pizza is definitely the way to go. A goat cheese salad to start, pizza for main course, and profitoroles to finish. This three course plan is more than enough for two. Wine list is short and sweet, but the Gavanza(sp?) is a great Grenache blend that compliments Italian food, perfectly.A couple notes: there's a stack of ski magazines to leaf through when the service is particularly glacial, the toddler son may or may not crash his tricycle into your table while you dine. And, sometimes they give you a free shot of whiskey before you leave.

Restaurant - Llac de Pessons: Food with a view and a hike if you want

by DSwede

This little restaurant is at the bottom of 5 small lakes. You can eat on the deck, basque in the sun, look at the mountains in the reflective waters, watch the birds and clouds go by.After your meal, you can hike further up the trail if you wish and visit the other 4 lakes, each one is an additional 20~30 minutes. When I visited the restaurant, it was actually closed, so I cannot speak for its menu or prices. But I did have my own food with me, and made a picnic nearby and watched the birds taking baths in the icy water under the big mountains.Even if you don't eat their food, the restaurant is a nice place to visit.

Els dos Caçadors: Local food and Danish friend

by matcrazy1

This restaurant is centrally and very conveniently located in main through street of Andorra la Vella. In real it is a Spanish style bar with typical round bar chairs along long bar desk and medium size restaurant under one roof. The interior with walls made of stones (typical style of Pyrenean mountain houses) is a bit dark but looks nice. The restaurant offered grilled meats, Mediterranean Spanish cuisine as well as some fast food style sandwiches and snacks. I was most interested in local Andorran food although, frankly speaking, with my low budget everything was too expensive for me. I also knew that they usually added to the bill 10% for service in Andorra. No, this is not expensive place as for Andorra where restuarants tend to be more expensive than in France and Spain, rather below average but during my crazy 10-day trip to Spain (my first one) I couldn't spend money for any food...

CanPere in village of Anyos: Don't miss this place.

by bill&will

Terrific small personal restaurant in small mountain village of Anyos, 10 mins outside Andorra la vella.Very popular with excellent highly personal service.Food wonderful, freshly and uniquely prepared. What a menu !!!Prices highly competative despite the high quality which is not spared.Dave the Chef and Alison who waited were helpful friendly and very welcoming. Roast duck with strawberry sauce - to die for

Places to eat in Andorra: Be aware of the high prices!

by Tobias_Plieninger

Most restaurant in Andorra offer spanish food.Compared with the high prices in Spain and France the prices in Andorra are exorbitant high.If you want to go to an restaurant you should keep the prices in mind! If I saw the prices I decided to wait until I was in France. For day trip a picnic could be recommandable!

L'Abarset: Recharge your batteries after a hard ski day!

by davidlop

With a strong mountain ambience, this restaurant is located just at the bottom of the slopes at El Tarter facilities. Decent breakfast sandwitches, good menu and dishes for lunch, and... have to try it for dinner, yet :-)When weather gets warmer, there's a confortable terrace where you can eat, drink and sunbath for a while, with views to the lower slopes... Menu dishes are tasty, big enough for some sport recovery, and amazingly cheap (for a ski resort).

Angelo: The best pizzas in the country!

by davidlop

With four restaurants spread around Andorra, you always can taste a superb thin-style pizza, if you get there early or reserved a table early enough. Ambience is smooth, but I always visit them for their pizzas ;-) Note: Web page is in Catalan (official language) and also in Spanish. Pizzas, pizzas, pizzas!!!! Also salads and other dishes are good, but believe me: taste a pizza!

KSB.: Great Wine!

by Helen196

**MARCH 2004**This little restaurant is great if you like good wine and large portions. It's a bit poor if you're a vegetarian though as they don't understand the concept of NO MEAT very well! The eating area is dimly lit and you can look out onto the piste from a large picture window. You can also watch the chef at work as the kitchen area is open. They serve specials such as ostrich, alligator and sea bass although I managed to miss out on the Ostrich as someone ordered the last portion before me!
