If you need some electronic equipment (photo camera, camcorder), think of purchasing it in Andorra. It is quite possible that a considerable part of the price of such an item in your country is taxes, and in Andorra there aren't at all. In some items you can obtain a 30-40% discount or more, depending on the item and your country of origin.

Andorra offers a surprising array of things to do for such a small country. Of course, it is famous for its winter skiing, trout fishing, summer mountain hiking, and high end shopping. It also has a fairly decent cultural life, with several good, if small, museums, and a pretty good concert series in summer. Beyond these things, worth a visit is the Casa de Vall, the Andorran parliament, located in Andorra La Vella's Barri Antic, or Old Town. Once the home of an Andorran aristocrat, it was given to the Andorran people in the early 1700s and became their parliament building. Also nearby is the Church of St. Stephen, the main Roman Catholic church in this overwhelmingly Roman Catholic country. The church is by no means spectacular when compared to the main churches in several of the other European mini-states, but it is well worth a look, combining fairly seemlessly its original romanesque...

Andorra la Vella is the capital city. It doesn't look like an old city, but it has some interesting buildings. It is full of shopping malls where you can spend your day shopping at very interesting prices.

Try a trip to LePetit Train Juaine. Little Yellow Train. Drive to French border and down the old road to a town called Bourg Madame. Take train from station to Villafranche. 2hr drive from Andorra. Train is often full if boarded later on the journey. Go for open carriage. Return Ticket is available Check SNCF website for prices and timetable.Caldea water park in Andorra la Vella is expensive for what it is and your entry is time limited to 2 hrs or its extra money. £8-00 for a swimming pool is steep and in summer I would give it a miss. Lakes are free!I did hike to the top of pic Coma Pedrosa in a day but it was hard going, (and I can run at 14kph over 10 k) Heat gets to you. Last part is steep and rocky. Best to go in a group leave landslide dam in Arinsal at 9am and you will be doing good to get back by 7pm. Take plenty of food (you can drink out of the rivers with no ill effects)Good...

City: Andorra La Vella

by rkyle2

City: Andorra La Vella Andorra La Vella is the capital of this tiny principality nestling between France and Spain and is its biggest town. Lying at the confluence of the Gran Valira, the Valira del Oriente and the Valira del Norte rivers, Andorra La Vella is dwarfed by stunning snow-capped mountains of up to 2500 metres high. The town has now grown to absorb the once independent villages of Escaldes, Engordany and Santa Coloma. The Barri Antic (old town) was the original heart of the town when it was little more than a village. It stretches from the Esglesia de Sant Esteve to Placeta del Puial and is characterized by atmospheric cobblestoned streets and arresting stone houses. Stroll in the Placa del Poble – the large public square atop the Edifici Administratiu Govern d’Andorra. It’s a great place for people watching of an evening and is home to the town’s theatre and concert venue.

Caldea Health Spa

by rkyle2

Caldea Health SpaCaldea is one of Europe’s largest health spas, a futuristic architectural wonder situated in the heart of the Andorran mountains. There are over 6000 square meters of indoor and outdoor lagoons, saunas, jacuzzis, pools, Indo-Roman baths, cascades, bubble beds and much more. Fed by natural thermal springs, it is an essential part of any visit to Andorra, especially after a hard day’s fun in the snow.

Don't just pass through Andorra, if possible, get out of your car and take a walk through the streets of one of the villages. It's nice to get a feel for the place - hear the language, meet the people, shop in their shops.Andorra has many duty free shops! Cheap alcohol!!
