The only way into Andorra is...

by tucha

The only way into Andorra is by road. The major automobile routes into and out of Andorra include the CG1 from Spain and the CG2 from France. If you take the latter, you'll pass through the unforgettable Port d'Envalira, the highest pass in the Pyrenees (2410m/7900ft).The nearest Spanish airports are in Barcelona and Girona; the nearest French airport is Toulouse-Blagnac. The French railway station closest to Andorra is L'Hospitalet-près-l'Andorre, two hours south of Toulouse by train. From there, daily buses make the two hour trip to Andorra la Vella. The nearest Spanish railway station is about 40km (25km) east of the Andorran border at Puigcerdà. It has daily bus connections to Andorra la Vella via Seu d'Urgell.Hiring a car is the best way to see Andorra and her mountains..the roads are large and safe.In the winter you have to chain in the weels of the car because the snow on the...

The only way to reach Andorra...

The only way to reach Andorra is by road. You can also take the train up to Hospitalet (France) and continue by bus for the last 40 km. The nearest airport is in Toulouse (France), some 120 km from Andorra.

The only way I know to get to...

by jesjimenez

The only way I know to get to Andorra is by car (or by bus, I suppose). There's no airport nor train, and I think a quite common way to get to Andorra is to rent a car where you land. All towns and cities are very little, so walking is the best way to move around. If you want to go from one town to another, I would rent a car.

I went to Andorra whilst living in Tarragona. it´s a 4 hour drive from Tarragona by car. but the 4 hours are worth it. The whole trip through the mountains is beautiful. on the picture you can see my travel-buddies on the way back from andorra to tarragona. ok perhaps it gets a bit borring..but i´m sure there are other ways to get there..this is just the way i got there!mmm i wouldn´t wanna drive here..the capital of andorra..is..confusing i think...for a car-driver..i don´t know..judge for yourself. but i liked that fact that we just used our legs for getting around andorra city!!

Getting to the Principality of...

by James63

Getting to the Principality of Andorra is not easy, and is probably best combined within a larger driving trip in France or Spain. From Barcelona, which is the only really big city in either France or Spain that has an airport close to Andorra, you can rent a car and be into Andorra La Vella in about 3 1/2 hours, slightly longer if you plan to stay in Ordino or one of the other mountain towns. Be advised that this is not a straight line drive and involves several highway changes. It is easy to get lost, both coming and going, so bring a map and be sure to have studied it before you depart on your journey. (You can also enter Andorra from France as well, but again, a map is essential.) Another option is to take the bus from Barcelona. There are three buses into and out of Andorra daily from Barcelona's central bus station or airport into the main bus terminal in Andorra La Vella. From...

From the UK a IT tour with First Choice. They include a car and a Hotel with Half Board in Arinsal Or Soldeu. Driving from Reus is easy and takes 3 1/2 hrs. Fuel in Andorra was 125pts/litre in 2000. Car again. Passes are steep so don't hurry. Drive to Car parks to start walks. Andorra La Vella City is a nightmare to park in.

One of the most important tip:...

One of the most important tip: If You Andorra La Vella and want to go Pas de la Casa, the best way can be choosing the road to Ordino and than to Pas de la Casa. This road is trough the mountain but it's better than stay 30 minutes - 2 hours in the traffic completly stopped. Or Not. Try your luck...

There are no airports in Andorra so the easiest way to get there is to take a bus from Barcelona. There are also bussconnections with other spanish towns as well as to towns in France. THE PHOTO: BUSTERMINAL IN ANDORRA LA VELLA.

by SusanneBeck

You can travel to Andorra by road from France through Pas de la Casa and the Envalira Pass and from Spain via Sant Julià de Lòria. What we did was hire a car while on holiday in Salou, and drove there. It didn't take that long and it was well worth the visit. The nearest main cities are Barcelona (at 185 km) and Lleida (at 151 km) on the Spanish side and Toulouse (at 187 km) and Perpignan (at 169 km) on the French side.

There are no best way to travel to Andorra; there is only a way: By car, or something that could go on the road. Andorrahasn´t trains, and there are no airports, and of course, thesea is far away.If you are prepared, it could be fantastic to get aroundin a bicycle. Don´t try to do it in winter.
