At the day we where here July the 4th 2006 it was really stone cold for a summers day only 5 C, the surrounding nature at lake Windeben has something magic or mystic. A pity there were so many people there.
The "Alpine Symbioses" Nature Study Trail with numerous display boards in the unique landscape around Lake Windeben.
There is also an unusually high number of stone pines to be seen in the neighbouring forests.
An easy path of about 400m leads up from Lake Windeben to the Glocken Hut (walking time about 15 minutes).

This healing bath was originally called the "bath in the little cirque".
The water of the Karl spring is led into larch troughs and heated to about 40° Celsius with red-hot stones. The troughs in which the cure guests lie are covered with wooden planks - with an opening for the head - so that the healing steam cannot escape.
Due to the cure operation, the bath is not open for viewing - but is possible after 1pm for an admission fee and by agreement.
Also nice to make rural pictures with cows and a little stream, children will like the big slide!

The Nockalmhof is only three kilometres from Innerkrems and is immediately situated on the Nockalm Road. It is an excellent starting point for various hikes in the National Park.
Several display boards offer information about the interesting history of iron mining in Innerkrems and the surrounding area.
As well as a children's playground and at that time there was an exhibition about the Marmot or in german Murmeltier

Take a ride on the Nockalmstraße, where goats, cows etc. still walk free. It is a very quiet mountain tollroad from Ebene Reichenau to Innerkrems vice versa I wrote when I was here for the first time 20 years ago. Nowadays more people discovered this beautiful toll road of almost 35 km which leads in 52 bends through the national park. The rounded "Nocken" (summits) gave their name to the road. On the way you can make several stops, which I will desribe in the other tips.
Opening hours
Approximately the beginning of May until October 28th daily
Motorcycles: 8am-6pm
Average length of stay: 2-4 hrs.
