Favorite thing: Villach is the 2nd largest city of Bundesland Kärnten, a town with about 60.000 inhabitants and in Austria it is mainly well-known for "Villacher Fasching", thats a kind of performance in the carneval and it includes sketches, songs & dancing and making fun about local and austrian politics as well as about the EU.
This event is also broadcasted by austrian TV every year !
Fondest memory: Something about the weather in Villach:
In General the climate in this southernmost part of Austria is better than in the parts north of the alps and quite often its raining all over Austria, but its nice and sunny in Kärnten / Carinthia

Favorite thing: Everybody (well, almost!) likes receiving letters - I certainly do, though there are other, more modern and efficient means of communication - e-mail, phone, and such like. However, if you simply like getting letters or if you need, say, the originals or paper copies of some documents sent to you while you are on the move, you can use the poste restante service. Your best bet is to use the American Express service, which is available for free to clients - you should hold either their card or travellers cheques. They are reliable and present in all major cities.

Favorite thing: Roam around through the mountains. Walking in Austria, especially Kärnten (Karintia), Tirol, Salzburgerland and the Steiermark is of unique pleasure and the Autrian touristboard does everything to create new routes and pleasurable walks for all.

Fondest memory: Holiday atmosphere was everywhere and we really enjoyed walking around, even doing (a lot) X-mas shopping... We found some really cute gift shops - so cute that I ended up buying almost all X-mas presents in Villach.
